Toshiba Europe is introducing new entry-level 2.5-inch 7mm SSDs that enable users to vastly improve the performance of their system and increase the amount of available memory. With advanced 15nm flash memory technology, the A100 consumes less power, boots up faster, improves system responsiveness and operates much quieter than traditional hard drives.

High-performance internal SSD A100 speeds system bootup and improves response times

The drives are available in 120GB and 240GB capacities and feature the latest 15nm triple-level cell flash technology, Toshiba’s own controllers and SLC caching technology. R” hard drives are ideal for home or office PCs for users wishing to replace aging hard drives for faster, shatterproof SSDs with lower power consumption.

Toshiba SLC Caching Technology improves data processing efficiency with random read/write speeds of 87,000 and 82,000 IOPS, respectively. A100 achieves 550MB/s sequential read performance and 480MB/s sequential write performance. SATA III interface backward compatible has a maximum data transfer speed of 6.0 Gbps.

A100 drives support hardware-assisted instruction sequencing NCQ as well as S.M.A.R.T. monitoring, analysis and reporting technology and TRIM requires OS support . A100 models achieve an MTBF of 1.5 million hours.

New 2.5-inch 7mm drives will be available in October. Retail pricing to be announced at launch. All devices are covered by a three-year warranty.
