There are winners! The results of Canon’s My Close Circle photo contest are in.

We would have given everyone first place, who made it to the superfinals! At least two members of the judging panel said so. It’s a pity we can’t award them all. You have to choose three photos, the most, the most. And we did. Of the five main parameters that were used to judge the submissions, we prioritized originality, unanticipated subtexts with different readings. Other criteria: plot, composition, technique, emotionality, the superfinalists were almost on the same high level. That’s why in the end the popular vote didn’t match the jury’s choice. So, our winners:

1st place – Sergey Kolyaskin, Zlatoust, Chelyabinsk region

A barnyard all over the place. Reminds me of nothing, no parallels? Some are confined to the freedom of others, and some are not content with their own, looking at the disappearing school of fish in the sky. And some don’t notice all that fuss down below, and just fly wherever they want. Although, as you can see, every fall they fly not where they want, but where they are supposed to. That’s the philosophy of freedom – be it of a single person or a single country…

2nd place – Natalia Malysheva, Smolensk

Anechka’s photo captures at once with its skill. But then, after running around all day, you meet Anechka again, and you realize that she captures something else. Pure Sight. Beloved Child. You look into the penetrating eyes, and you see not Anechka at all, but each of your. If you dig deeper, this photo, like a mirror, may well sparkle in the soul itself, the most important glimmer, which quite often turns out to be on the verge of fading … How nice that we saved the author from taking an impulsive step: at the stage of superfinal Natalya Malysheva wanted to withdraw her photos from the contest. A strong photograph, like a strong feeling, is unpredictable in its effect…

3rd place – Elena Gontarenko, Saint-Petersburg

It’s about what: a bursting pipe and a green sprout? It’s day and night? This is old and new? It’s war and peace? Or is it life and death? No answer. To be more precise, each one has a different answer…
