Sony has announced the end of the regional stage of the #SonyAlphaPortrait global photo contest. 2 months, over 6000 submissions, 8 judges and only 3 winners. The contest was held on Instagram and focused on the art of portraiture. As part of the regional stage the American jury and representatives of Sony Electronics in America and CIS countries chose three best works, the authors of which received Sony cameras.

On September 10 the Multimedia Art Museum New York House of Photography held a meeting of the jury, which in the course of heated discussions determined the winners from 78 photos on the short list of the competition. The discussion of the contenders was streamed live in the @SonyPhotoAmerica group on Instagram.
The main prize is a kit of α7 III camera with SEL 28-70mm F3 lens.5-5.6 – receives Efim Shevchenko.
In second place, the jury put Alexei Vlasov. He won the α7 II kit with an SEL 28-70mm F3 lens.5-5.6.
Third place and a set of α7 with an SEL 28-70mm F3 lens.5-5.6 went to Danila Rudoy
Then the works of the three regional winners will be sent to the international stage of the contest, where representatives of Sony Corporation Tokyo and the international jury will choose the 5 best portraits of the winners from all participating countries. The best works of the global stage of the contest will be announced on October 5, 2018 and will receive α9 cameras with one of the G Master series lenses from the list of their choice.
