Seagate Introduces IRONWOLF and IRONWOLF PRO Series of NAS Drives

Seagate Technology, the world leader in storage and data management solutions, has updated its IronWolf® and IronWolf Pro lines of drives for small and home office NAS systems. New is an 18TB hard drive and two SATA SSD models. With unmatched speed, capacity and reliability, drives provide scalability and sustained performance for NAS solutions.

The new 18TB IronWolf Pro hard drive is designed and optimized specifically for NAS systems with built-in AgileArray firmware. Uses traditional CMR magnetic recording technology, which provides consistently high RAID performance and allows many users to work with it at the same time. With a large workload limit WRL of 300 TB/year, the device extends NAS data access, streaming and backup capabilities. With a sustained data rate of 250MB/s, it is the fastest drive in the IronWolf family and the highest capacity. IronWolf Pro hard drives support IronWolf Health Management software on compatible NAS systems and come with a five-year limited warranty.

The new SSDs with SATA interface, IronWolf Pro 125 and IronWolf 125, are optimized for NAS systems and designed for 24×7 multi-user access. The drive’s scalability and performance meet the needs of small and mid-size businesses, creative professionals and home offices. IronWolf Pro 125 is designed specifically for multi-user and active use with a wear rating of up to 1 rewrite per day.

The drive features a power-loss data protection feature and comes with a five-year limited warranty and a three-year subscription to Seagate Rescue Data Recovery Services. IronWolf 125 has a wear rate of 0.7 write cycles per day. Drive also comes with five-year limited warranty. IronWolf Health Management software available on compatible NAS systems for both SSDs. This includes products from Seagate’s key partners Synology, Qnap and Asustor. The software gives users of NAS systems the ability to easily monitor their performance and functionality.
