Leica has officially announced the upcoming S3 medium format SLR camera which will replace the existing S2 model that was announced ten years ago at photokina 2008.
The Leica S3 will be equipped with a 64 megapixel ProFormat image sensor, which provides high quality images in all lighting conditions. Framing will be done with a large and bright reflex video viewfinder, and a reliable and fast focusing system will allow you to focus precisely on the subject youāre shooting. Continuous shooting speed in Leica S3 will be 3 fps. The camera will also be able to shoot 4K video with the characteristic image of a medium-format sensor.
Aside from these details, Leica didnāt provide any more details about the new camera. The company simply stated the āmany advanced technical solutionsā that will be implemented in it. That said, the Leica S3 is scheduled to go on sale in spring 2019.
