Hasselblad has announced an adapter that will allow XPan film camera owners to mount their analog lenses to the digital medium format X1D camera. Launch of new adapter coincides with v1 firmware update.2 for the X1D, which added an XPan framing mode for the viewfinder and LCD display.
The adapter is purely mechanical and does not transmit data to the camera. It is compatible with Hasselblad 30mm,45mm and 90mm XPan lenses as well as Fujifilm TX-1 and TX-2 lenses. All lenses used must have a manual focus and aperture.
The adapter will go on sale in mid-January for $180. The company said it also plans to release an adapter that will allow V-system lenses to be used on the X1D, but, prematurely, did not disclose a possible release date.
