Fujifilm has announced the new GFX 50R medium format camera, a lighter and more compact model in a mirrorless medium format system that is ideal for professional photographers specializing in street, documentary or portrait photography.
The GFX 50R features FUJIFILM’s 43.8×32.9mm G sensor with 51.4MP resolution and the high-performance X-Processor Pro image processor for outstanding color and tone reproduction. The camera uses a three-inch LCD touch screen and a 3.69-million-dollar electronic video viewfinder for framing. dots and 0.7x magnification. The LCD screen has a conventional tilt mechanism rather than the three-axis tilt mechanism of the GFX 50S.
The GFX 50R’s magnesium alloy body is waterproof in 64 areas, providing reliable dust and waterproof protection and enabling photography in harsh weather conditions. Camera also survives low temperatures down to -10° C. The camera weighs 775g, 145g lighter than the GFX 50S
Offering photographers greater connectivity, the GFX 50R is the first model in the GFX system to offer Bluetooth wireless connectivity with low power consumption. This feature offers the ability to pair the camera with a smartphone or tablet for easy image transfer via the free FUJIFILM Camera Remote app. It also uses two UHS-II SD card slots and the NP-T125 Rechargeable Battery with a full charge of 400 shots
