New York, America, October 22, 2014. Canon today expands its Cinema EOS range with the EOS C100 Mark II. The latest professional camcorder with a large format sensor for unassisted shooters. Building on the successful EOS C100, the EOS C100 Mark II has been significantly upgraded to offer improved image quality, greater creative freedom, and more convenient controls and wireless capabilities.
EOS C100 Mark II
Outstanding results in all conditions
The EOS C100 Mark II builds on the technology of the flagship EOS C500 and incorporates powerful image processing to give it outstanding performance. A Canon 8.3Megapixel Super-35 CMOS sensor combines with the DIGIC DV 4 processor to deliver the rich color and wide dynamic range for which Cinema EOS cameras are renowned, while a new extended ISO sensitivity range of 320 to 102,400 ensures great results even in very low light. New image processing system further sharpens footage by suppressing moiré and jagged effects.
Innovative Canon DualPixel CMOSAF autofocus technology implemented in EOSC100 Mark II as standard mode. Enables effortless focusing and easy switching between multiple subjects in the frame. Also includes Capon’s FaceDetectionAF autofocus technology, which enhances creative shooting by automatically recognizing and holding focus on faces.
New creative possibilities
The EOS C100 Mark II offers two recording formats to suit different production needs. Dual Format function enables operators to record Full HD video simultaneously in MP4 up to 35Mbps and AVCHD up to 28Mbps at frame rates of up to 60P. The user can also record simultaneously in HD and SD formats to different SD cards for maximum workflow flexibility and easy data transfer. This versatility of options further enhances the creative freedom of the EOS C100 Mark II, plus the ability to shoot in fast & slow motion.
Built-in Wi-Fi – first in the Cinema EOS lineup – easily sends footage from the camera via FTP. In fast-paced situations, such as news and event photography, dual-format recording helps operators quickly send low SD files out of the camera without compromising HD recording.
Rock solid reliability anytime, anywhere
The EOS C100 Mark II’s sturdy, compact design makes it ideal for a wide range of applications, especially when working unassisted. Browser-based camera control with built-in Wi-Fi and support for Canon’s RC-V100 multifunction remote control let users set up the camera in places that previously would have been unimaginable, so creative solutions are made available to film crews in the most awkward and challenging situations.
The EOS C100 Mark II’s redesigned screen can be flipped to the side for more control – so users can see in front of the camera. New OLED display has faster response time, higher contrast and richer image quality even in bright light. The camera is also equipped with an improved retractable, tiltable electronic viewfinder and an oversized eyecup for greater flexibility and precision when shooting. The microphone in the grip is equipped with a number of professional audio recording features, and the camera body features a new built-in microphone that allows for audio recording even in the most compact camera configuration.
LensEF – unlimited possibilities
As part of the EOS system, the EOS C100 Mark II is compatible with and optimised for use with Canon’s famous interchangeable EF lenses and 4K EF cinema lenses, offering ample scope and versatility for almost any creative task.
