The EOS C300 Mark III answers the call of the professional community

Canon doesn’t stop innovating, so we’ve built on the proven EOS C300 Mark II system released in 2015 to create the EOS C300 Mark III. This camera has everything you need for high-quality shooting in a wide range of video production scenarios: a new DGO sensor with a dynamic range of over 16 stops for improved HDR content a modular design, like last year’s EOS C500 Mark II and up to 120fps recording in 4K Cinema RAW Light or XF-AVCi. Such advantages allow EOS C300 Mark III to cope equally well with documentaries and commercials, as well as with corporate video and film productions. Canon launches this camera, along with the new CN10X25 IAS S lens, to help professionals create original content in any genre.

Impressive HDR shooting with the new DGO sensor

The EOS C300 Mark III was Canon’s first camera with DGO, a new image processing system that delivers exceptional low light performance, as well as unrivalled HDR capabilities. Each sensor pixel is read at two different gain levels – high and low – and then combined to create a single image. High gain allows clear shots in dimly lit environments, while low gain is optimized for capturing brightly lit areas. This pixel-level alignment ensures that every detail in the video is preserved and shown more clearly, with a dynamic range of up to 16 stops. What’s more, the DGO is compatible with Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology, giving operators creative freedom.

Workflows for any shooting scenario

Convenient multi-format recording in a variety of situations, including television and film. With internal 4K Cinema RAW Light recording capability, the camera supports all the benefits of flexible post-production editing at a smaller file size, so you can forget the hassle and expense of processing large files. In addition, the EOS C300 Mark III offers Canon XF-AVC 4K DCI and UHD 4:2:2 10-bit internal recording, as well as 2K and Full HD recording. For recording in XF-AVC not RAW , operators can choose ALL-I or Long GOP compression to increase shooting time and performance. When recording in 2K or Full HD, the Super-35 takes full advantage of the 4K sensor and then downscales the resolution internally – ensuring high image quality and a wide field of view thanks to no cropping.

All-in-one approach

Two optional expansion modules EU-V1 and EU-V2 can be attached to the camera: both add the right connectors and increase the range of shooting styles. In addition, operators can switch from the lens mount to EF, PL or EF Cinema Lock on their own, without the need for service staff – a big advantage for operators who want to work in different manners.
