The Canon EOS 7D Mark II SLR captures frames in a fraction of a second

Canon introduces the EOS 7D Mark II DSLR, ideal for capturing the kind of high-speed shots that few other cameras can match. This groundbreaking camera combines the best-in-class performance of the famous EOS 7D with technologies used in the flagship model, the EOS-1D X professional camera. Amazing speed, amazing power and performance, and the freedom to capture the fast-moving world.

The completely redesigned and redesigned EOS 7D Mark II boasts all the features of its predecessor, as well as many new functions. Designed to capture the most elusive moments, the EOS 7D Mark II captures an incredible 10 frames per second with no loss of resolution. With its new 65-point cross type[i] autofocus system and dual DIGIC 6 processors, it sets a new standard for lightning-fast speed and performance.

Fitted with new APS-C 20.2Mpix CMOS sensor with a hardware ISO 100-16,000 sensitivity range that can be further expanded to ISO 51,200 to capture the perfect frame in superb quality. Featuring an advanced 150,000-pixel high-resolution RGB+IR exposure metering sensor and innovative flicker detection, the EOS 7D Mark II delivers beautifully exposed images.

Fully customisable to suit every shooting style. It also features customizable controls and a new viewfinder with one hundred percent field of view coverage. Professional-standard video recording features, including uncompressed Live HDMI output and Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology, allow you to explore new depths of your creative potential.

Catch a shot in a split second

The EOS 7D Mark II is ideal for high-speed shooting, shooting an amazing 10 frames per second at maximum resolution. This is made possible in part by the new design of the shutter and mirror drive mechanism, with an ultra-long shutter life of 200,000 cycles.

Lightning-fast response time is complemented by a fast-acting 65-point AF system, which accurately and precisely captures focus on subjects of uncompromising sensitivity. One of the most advanced autofocus systems in its class, with each dot being a cross-type dot1, including the center double cross-type dots at f/2.8. Low-light sensitivity down to EV-3 delivers unrivalled precision in all subjects and lighting conditions.

The EOS 7D Mark II allows complete freedom to operate the autofocus system and features a customisable menu system similar to the EOS-1D X, allowing unrestricted control over sensitivity and subject tracking. And the new dedicated AF mode selector switch lets you instantly switch between AF-area selection modes without taking your eye off the viewfinder.

Unparalleled image clarity, brightness and detail

New 150,000-pixel RGB+IR exposure metering ensures accurate and consistent exposures in all shooting conditions – indoors or outdoors, in natural or artificial light. This is the first sensor in the EOS series to have sensitivity to infrared light and flicker.

Thanks to intelligent light source analysis and detection of flickering light not detected by the eye, a new, advanced flicker detection feature ensures that pictures are taken only when the light is at its brightest. An advanced exposure metering sensor is enhanced by EOS iTR AF and AI Servo AF III. First introduced with the EOS-1D X and used for precise tracking of subjects.

Easy to shoot cinema-quality video

In terms of video, the EOS 7D Mark II inherits the reputation of its predecessor, adding a new range of professional-standard recording functions. Superior autofocus performance is delivered by the camera’s unique proprietary Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology, enabling smooth, accurate focusing.

For the first time in the EOS series, you can simultaneously adjust AF tracking speed and tracking sensitivity to fully control focus shift effects as you move from one subject to another. Capture Full HD images in fractions of a second and select frame rates from 24p to 60p for smooth motion and slow motion effects.

Footage shot with the EOS 7D Mark II fits in perfectly with your current professional workflow, thanks to its HDMI output on external recorders without compression 4:2:2 . For professional-quality sound recording, the EOS 7D Mark II features a new dedicated microphone and headphone jack, and a silent movie function that cuts out operating noise when you change camera settings.

The perfect companion for every journey

The EOS 7D Mark II is designed for shooting in the most demanding conditions and offers advanced weatherproofing. Housed in a rugged, magnesium-alloy body, the camera has built-in GPS and a digital compass to help you track your route.
