Operation, programs and modes features

At first glance, this is the simplest multicooker from those tested, because it does not have so many programs. And the manufacturers themselves as the main consider modes with pressure, and others are supposed to use as an afterthought.

And you must cook with the lid open in the programs Stew, Broil and Roast Vegetables. This is where the “bugs” come in: should the lid or the steam valve be kept open?? Open the recipe book with. 108 – a walnut-chocolate muffin.

It should be baked in the Stew mode with the oven closed! with the lid. Such contradictions between the manual and the recipe book confuse many housewives. Therefore, to learn how to use this multicooker to 100%, one manual and a book of recipes is not enough, not do without the help of Internet forums, where housewives are actively discussing and offering recipes for a variety of dishes for this device.

The main modes are two: Low and High Pressure.

The Low Pressure mode is recommended for cooking meat, poultry, fish, and steamed dishes.

The high pressure mode is designed for fast cooking of meat, poultry and vegetables, such as beets and potatoes.

It is in these two programs that you can set the timer for a certain time, and it will start counting only if you close the steam valve correctly. When the valve is open, the cooking is in progress, but there is no countdown and no audible signal is provided either.

Small appliances for the kitchen

Moulinex

We cooked a pilaf in the High Pressure mode, having previously roasted vegetables and meat in the Broiling mode. It took us 30 minutes to cook the whole dish: 10 minutes for frying and stewing, 20 minutes for the rice dish.

Once the multicooker is in the Stew, Fry or Roast mode, you can recognize it only when the dot on the display stops flashing. But keep in mind that it occasionally blinks again while you’re cooking. It is not clear what this means: the heating element shuts off or something else? There is no indication that this will happen.

In these three programs, moreover, there is no automatic shutoff, and the timer is inactive. You should note the time on the clock and use it as a guide.

Stewing program cooks at low temperatures, it’s more like Stewing. But how to cook with the lid open is the question. That’s why many users close the lid and just leave the steam valve open. Some people even unscrew it from the lid. Active use of these three programs greatly expands the functionality of the device, allowing to bake, roast, stew – in general, to create.

In this multicooker it is necessary to cook porridge in two steps: firstly, to boil water in the boiling mode and there boil crops for a while, and then to cook porridge under high pressure.

I got the impression that the manufacturers don’t know much about this appliance. Savvy American housewives can share much more curious information about the hidden features of this multicooker. It does a great job of cooking, you just have to know what program to use in each case. Again, this information can be easily found on the web.

CONTROL: Everything is clear, but if the steam valve is not closed, there is no time countdown and there is no audible error signal. What’s inconvenient is that only two of the programs have automatic shutoff after a set time, while in the rest of the programs you have to watch the time yourself. 8

INTERFACE: Large buttons, clear indication, but it is not clear that the program is on. 7

FUNCTIONALITY CHOICE OF PROGRAMS : There are few programs, you have to choose by experience, which one to use in each case. But the programs themselves are universal and suitable for many dishes, the main thing is to learn how to use them properly.9

PRICE/QUALITY: the most inexpensive multicooker in this group. +1

TEST NO. 1 “RICE”

Rating – 10 points

Since the programs here represent a cooking method rather than a specific dish, the rice can be cooked in several ways. It can be simmering, it can be on low pressure, we had it on high pressure. The time was set at 20 minutes.

The result is cooked rice. In principle, it is possible to reduce the time, but we were afraid to. For rice-based dishes, such as pilaf and risotto, it is necessary to use two programs: firstly, the “Broil” program, and then the “High” or “Low” pressure programs.

TEST NO. 2 “LANGUAGE”

Score – 10 points

50 minutes in High Pressure mode – and it’s ready delicacy. Again, you can also cook it in the Low Pressure mode, increasing the cooking time.

TEST # 3 “SUPP”

Assessment – 10 points

We cooked it in the Low Pressure mode. First we fried the vegetables and mushrooms, added sliced potatoes, poured the chicken broth. We closed everything – and after 40 minutes the fragrant and delicious soup was ready.

TEST NO 4 “FRYING

Score – 10 points

We used it to fry the wings in the “broiling” program. In 30 minutes they were fully cooked. During the cooking the heating element worked almost constantly, the sizzling sound of oil was heard during the whole half an hour. This program works fine, and there is enough temperature to cook it. Naturally, we did not close the lid.

TEST NO. 5 “BAKING”

Score – 9 points

In principle, this multicooker has no program Baking, but even on the box, in which the device is packaged, it is written Baking. In the recipe book there is a recipe for a muffin, which is baked in the Stew mode. We conducted our first experiment using the manufacturer’s recommendations. The experience was not a success. After closing the lid and pressing Start, we timed. After 10 minutes we noticed that the mode was off. Apparently, the clever technique realized that there was no liquid, and turned off. The dough “sizzled” and that was it. Once again, everything worked, but the biscuit did not work, just a flat piece of cake.

We got help from hostesses on online forums. It turns out that baking in this multicooker should be done in the Roast Vegetables program ! . We made a fruit biscuit – the same as in other multicookers: we poured the batter into a greased pan, covered everything with a lid without closing it and the steam valve , pressed Start and measured the time.

After one hour we took out the baked sponge cake, as usual, light on one side, dark on the other, even shiny. The tea party has succeeded! We conquered the multicooker, but for such “secrecy” and “encryption” programs, we have reduced the scores to the manufacturers, although the device itself on this position deserves the highest mark.

PRESSURE

No data in numbers in the manual of the device, just that there are two modes in which the cooking goes under pressure, you can choose one of them. The manufacturers were kind enough to tell us the exact working data of the modes, and we placed them in the characteristics of the device.

STEAM VALVE BEHAVIOR

It must be closed/opened independently by turning the knob on the steam valve. There are two positions – open/closed with graphic indication. Everything is drawn very small, you have to bend over and see what position it is in. In the instruction, by the way, it is also finely drawn and not very clearly explained, but there is nothing complicated about the procedure. To quickly release the pressure, turn the knob on the valve using a fork, for example . Slow steam discharge occurs in the Keep warm mode, as in all other multicookers.

COVER

It has a removable cover, similar in design to the lids of pressure cookers. If it is not closed with a latch, it can be removed with one hand by the handy non-heated handle. To cook under pressure, the lid on the multicooker must be closed by turning it.

BOWL

Fine enough, the design is close to the ones used in multicookers without pressure. Traditional non-stick PTFE-based non-stick coating is used.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES

The main feature: no automatic shut off in some programs. You have to turn the program off yourself when you want – well, practically like a burner on the stove.
