PICTURE QUALITY

The Panasonic Viera TX-LR32U20 displays a wide color margin. The colors on the screen when you change the angle of view does not change, for which, apparently, we have to thank the matrix IPS Alpha.

When inputting the HDMI signal the colors of the image are reproduced quite naturally, but the skin colors are a little bit saturated with some shades reddish or greenish – depending on the “Raster background” setting .

There is a bit of a crest in the slanted lines when displaying the motion, but you can almost remove this effect with the Sharpness and Noise Reduction adjustments.

The resolution of the video circuit when playing high-definition signal was about 700-730 TV lines. The device demonstrates a good reserve of brightness, black shades of color are reproduced with good enough quality.

Black is deep but a little bit lighter when viewed from an angle of about 60 degrees , white is rich, white objects on a white background are displayed with good detail.

When a 1080i signal was fed to the component input the resolution was about 600-620 TV lines. Black is displayed deep, white is rich, white objects on white background are quite detailed.

The quality of blacks at a fairly good level. Not a bad reserve of brightness of the picture.

Digital artifacts like combing on the moving slanted lines are not noticeable, though the motion is displayed a little intermittently.

The color palette is not badly natural, though the skin colors are slightly saturated in some places with some tints depending on the adjustments of temperature and bitmap background .

The TV-viewer can use the following pre-set picture modes if he/she wishes: Dynamic, Normal, Cinema, True Cinema or Game.

AUDIO QUALITY

Panasonic Viera TX-LR32U20 has a good margin of sound volume with no noticeable distortion. Several surround sound modes are available.

The sound system consists of two speakers with 2x10W output power.

It should be noted that Panasonic Viera TX-LR32U20 is equipped with advanced sound enhancement technology. V-Audio ProSurround technology widens the sound scene by giving it more dimension with additional digital reverberation processing.

V-Audio Surround technology creates a soundstage depth effect by using the method of previously reflected waves, which is based on the measurement of the acoustic parameters of the room by the digital signal processor of the TV set.

Preset modes “Music” and “Speech” are available and contain treble and bass adjustments, in another mode – “User” the timbre can be set in detail with an 8-band equalizer.

Note that the unit is equipped with a volume correction function that protects the viewer’s ears from sudden volume jumps in the original signal.

Depending on how you position your HDTV, you can adjust the distance between the speaker and the wall when you install it so the sound reaches the TV viewer with optimal quality.

SERVICE CAPABILITIES

The remote control for the Panasonic Viera TX-LR32U20 model is quite large, with large numbers on the buttons.

Tamper-proof function allows parents to block certain channels so their children can’t view them, if necessary.

It is also worth noting the Viera Link technology, which allows you to control external devices connected to the TV via HDMI with just one remote control from the TV.

For example the viewer can instantly start the recording of a program on a DIGA DVD recorder by pressing the “Viera Link” button on the remote control of the television set and selecting the “Start recording” option in the “Viera Link” menu.

Also note that the special game mode is optimized brightness and color balance of the picture for a more detailed display of dark scenes, in addition, it applies accelerated image processing, which is designed to provide high-quality display of dynamic scenes.
