Samsung Electronics released new models of solid-state drives 970 series PRO and EVO, designed for enthusiasts and professionals in the field of high technology. With their high capacity and exceptional read/write speeds, the new drives are attractive to those who process and edit large amounts of image or video data.
New drives are available in M form factor.2 with the latest PCIe Gen 3Ć4 interface, offering NVM Express NVMe bandwidth. PRO drives can deliver sequential read speeds of up to 3,500 MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 2,700 MB/s. EVO models have the same reading speed, but a slightly slower write speed of up to 2500 Mbytes/sec.
Compared to the previous generation, the recording speed of the new 970 series has increased by 30%. Samsung achieves this by incorporating its latest V-NAND technology and advanced Phoenix controller. In addition, the EVO 970ās TurboWrite technology uses a memory buffer of up to 78GB to achieve even faster write speeds.
Not only are the new models fast, Samsung also claims theyāre very reliable. Samsungās Dynamic Thermal Guard technology protects the drives from overheating by controlling temperatures, as well as effectively dissipating heat and using a new nickel coating on the controllers to further reduce temperatures. All Samsung drives come with a 5-year warranty or more than 1,200GB of data storage.
