Positioned on the couch 2015
Last year at E3, ROCCAT introduced the Sova prototype, bringing the extremely popular PC gaming format into the living room.
Since then, slightly similar products have been presented at trade shows like CES and Computex. At Gamescom 2015, ROCCAT will share the latest news on the development status of the original and unique Sova, and visitors will have the opportunity to hold our first model in the Sova line, which will go on sale for the first time. Why more than one model? The answer is simple – we took into account all the wishes and opinions of the community.
“After such a warm reception to the Sova prototype at E3, we received a lot of feedback, and supplemented it with more surveys and testing. Gamers need a functional solution for PC gaming on the couch at an affordable price that meets their individual needs.”.
Thanks to feedback from the community, ROCCAT designers enthusiastically embarked on further development of the gaming surface. The results of the surveys led to a stunning change in the design and technical features of Sova: 2/3 of 20,000 people surveyed wanted a wired option. Only 10% found it acceptable to charge the wireless version daily. 1/3 was satisfied with the weekly recharging.
“Gamers would gladly accept the wired option if it meant a significant reduction in price and no need to charge the battery,” comments Rene. “Since there are those who still look forward to wireless Sova, it became clear that we needed to offer different versions of Sova if we wanted to meet the needs of different users.”.
