A prime example of the fact that the “system” cameras can not be completely shifted control to the touch interface – NX2000. The camera’s entire back panel is covered by a touch sensitive display. Next to it, there are only three buttons: exit to program selection menu, turning on the playback mode and start videorecording. The only remaining wheel is placed on the top panel and often gets in the way rather than help work with the camera. You do most of the camera stuff by touching the display and sliding your fingers across it. Often this happens by accident, because there is especially nowhere to place your fingers comfortably on the body: invariably you hit the screen.

There are a lot of well designed models with full touch screen interface, which are fast and easy to operate. But for the most part, they are designed to operate in automatic modes. “System” compact assumes that sooner or later its owner will pay more attention to shooting parameters and settings. And then the “finger” control starts to get in the way, navigating the software interface is quite tedious, and the responsiveness of the camera is not enough.
Functionally, the device resembles the NX300, but it is noticeably smaller in size. The all-plastic body makes the NX2000 a bit lighter, but the visual impact is lost. The only differences are lack of phase autofocus, slower frame rate when recording video and faster minimum shutter speed. All current models Samsung NX refers to smart-camera, which means Wi-Fi interface and a number of software solutions to facilitate the interaction between the camera with other devices and comfortable to publish captured material on the web. The NX2000, of course, was no exception.
