The NX300 has turned out to be such a successful, aesthetically and functionally attractive model from the very beginning that it remains a leader in Samsung “system” cameras for a long time. Skillful play on retro design combined with an original and quite modern design, well-balanced specifications with good performance, sufficient for amateur photography set of optics and accessories – all this is not so easy to get in this price segment.
Digital compact camera with interchangeable optics Samsung NX300
20.3 Megapixel, 20-50mm, F3.5-5.6 3.3″ $590
The swiveling screen is bright and high-resolution, with an adjustable tilt mechanism. Not a lot of knobs and wheels, besides not all controls seem well thought out and convenient, but they are enough to work with the camera in manual and semi-automatic modes. Graphic menu, striking visual sophistication and abundance of animation, a bit difficult to operational control, but the interface is a plus. A lot of settings can be controlled by the i-Function system, which uses the focus ring on the lens to set the settings.
Hybrid autofocus has time to focus during burst shooting at 5 fps. Supports tracking a moving subject, the effectiveness of which is ensured by the fact that the 105 phase focus points are placed in a band about a quarter of the frame, stretching almost from edge to edge of the sensor.
In addition to 20 megapixels and FullHD video format at 30 fps apparatus is able to record stereo images, or as they say these days, 3D. In the latter case, the picture resolution drops to 4.1 megapixels.
In the menu you can find a variety of different software filters. Not all of them can satisfy a photographer with a fine taste, but they give amusing results and will please those who are not familiar with graphic editors and are not going to get acquainted.
