Review of the mirrorless camera Samsung NX Mini

Photo makers with a long history are often not ready to take adventures for a variety of reasons: conservatism of management, fear of destroying the image, damage sales of proven solutions. Samsung, one of the last to enter the photographic market, was originally deprived of all these obstacles, allowing the world to show a lot of if not always successful, but very interesting devices. But the years go by, and now you can hardly call this brand a newcomer and deny it experience. Having your own, designed from the ground up, comes at a high price. It would seem that the manufacturer is about to get off the beaten track and trust experience more than imagination.

NX Mini looks more like an ultra-compact – due to the fact that the thickness of its magnesium body does not exceed 22.3 mm. This was achieved by reducing the sensor size to 1 inch, the creation of a new optical system with a tiny back aperture and the new NX-M mount. The lenses – there are two at the moment – are also miniaturized in size.

The hardware interface is also more like an ultra-compact. There’s not even room for the traditional exposure control wheels. But the pivoting display the mechanism could squeeze into the body of the baby is touch-sensitive, and the software interface has the appropriate virtual controls. On the top panel of the camera is a connector for an external flash included , but if you do not want to increase the size of the camera, you can use a weaker blitz, provided on the front panel.

The developers clearly see women as the main buyers of their brainchild. Self-portrait mode, wink self-timer, baby-camera mode with Wi-Fi display on your smartphone or tablet, all designed with the beautiful sex in mind. By the way, the NX Mini is much better suited for the latter mode than the NX30: the camera’s claimed autonomy is astounding. On one charge the device can make up to 650 frames or shoot 325 minutes of video.

This camera sounds interesting, but I’m wondering how it compares to other mirrorless cameras in its price range. Does it have a good image quality, reliable autofocus, and easy-to-use controls? How does it perform in low-light situations? And are there any unique features that set it apart from its competition?
