Profoto has released the lightweight and compact B10 flash with a maximum output of 250 watts. The flash is powered by a removable lithium-ion battery and supports wireless control with the Profoto AirTTL system.
The built-in LED lamp provides 2,500 lumens of continuous illumination that can be adjusted from 10 to 100% with a color temperature range of 3,000 to 6,500K. A full charge of the built-in battery gives you 400 firing cycles at maximum output or about 75 minutes of continuous illumination. The battery can also be charged externally while the flash is in use, via the built-in USB-C port.
In addition to setup and control via the Profoto AirTTL or Profoto A1 remote units, key parameters of the B10 can be set via a special smartphone app. Data transfer in this case is via Bluetooth. Power, brightness and color temperature can be adjusted via the app, and a special Creative Capture feature lets you preview the scene through the rear camera of your smartphone and simultaneously adjust light sources to achieve the desired effect. The app also offers the ability to download firmware updates as they become available.
Flash length of 17.5 cm, height 10 cm, width 11 cm and weight 1.5 kg. Optional 12 compact Profoto OCFs and 120 full-size modifiers are available. The flash comes with a stand clip that is easily removable, allowing the flash to be mounted on a variety of tripods.
