DESIGN FEATURES

Definitely a model worth considering for those who have some space issues. Because, thanks to its very compact size, Philips HTS 3325 requires little space to install and that, incidentally, is combined with very good sound characteristics about this below .

The developers made it easy to connect the speakers by color-coding the speaker cables and corresponding jacks on the player.

The remote control is easy to learn, the buttons are located quite logically. At first I was somewhat surprised by the absence of quick view buttons, but I soon found out that their role is performed by the forward/back cursor keys.

SOUND QUALITY

We were listening to the music in stereo with subwoofer. The system produces clear, detailed sound. Creates quite a good volume and sense of space. I enjoyed the bass parts, the sound is powerful, pushy, with very good articulation. The piano parts sound very nice. Warm and soulful saxophone sound – throughout the listening experience we had the feeling the musician was right in front of us. Percussion sounds with good dynamics and authenticity. Each stick beat is clearly defined. The bass drum sounds very powerful and clear. Vocal parts are transmitted reliably – the singer’s emotions and mood are clearly audible. Meanwhile, in the voice in some places noticeable certain hoarseness, however, to say that it greatly spoils the impression, can not.

Listening to a concert gives the feeling of a hall, as if you’re sitting right in front of your favorite musicians.

When playing movie soundtracks, the voices of the characters are very realistic, sometimes it seems as if the characters are speaking right next to you in the room. Very decently worked out the fine details – you can hear footsteps, voices on the sides, the noise of the forest. Localization of the sound images is completely true. The acoustic picture the system produces literally plunges you into the thick of it, making you forget about the real world. If the screen action is on the ship, you can feel swaying and salty smell of the sea, if the characters are walking through a winter forest, you can feel the snow under your feet and inhale the frosty air.

FUNCTIONALITY

The first thing you encounter when trying to get started is the OSD menu. It must be said that Philips did not lazy and made it good and qualitative. Anyway, you can hardly get confused in it – clear and conveniently readable fonts, logically arranged sections and transitions, in general – everything for your maximum comfort. For confident work with modern audio formats the system is equipped with different decoders, including, of course, DTS and Dolby Digital. In addition to the already traditional for such systems DivX format, HTS 3325 can work with the format DivX Ultra, which allows you to implement a number of additional features.

As for the settings, the options are pretty wide – you can set different screen size regular or wide , choose interlaced or progressive scanning. Audio settings are simple, but in general there is everything you need – you can set the delay for the center and rear channels, as well as set the volume level for all channels . Also the system can play static JPEG images..
