When you look at the HT953TV from LG, the epithets immediately come to mind: refined, elegant, unusual. Take a look at his photo – you’ll probably agree with us. The player mounted on a chrome leg looks more like a remote control or an information display.

Touch sensitive controls. Here you will not find the familiar volume control. It is certainly present, but it is made in the form of a hole with backlighting and in order to change the volume level you only need to put your finger inside it, yes, exactly put – there are no moving parts, because the control is also touch-sensitive. Subwoofer is a switching center of the system – a special system cable from the player goes to it, the speakers are also connected to it, and the TV is connected to the player. The speaker system and the player are made in the same style, and, it must be said, it is very well made – black glossy plastic and chrome stands inspire respect.

SOUND QUALITY

Recorded music listened to in stereo. The system creates a pretty good acoustic picture with good depth. Very clearly localized musical images. The bass lines sound tight and clear, creating a solid foundation for the entire song. However, to create a solid foundation the bass line alone is not enough – you also need strong support for percussion instruments. But there is nothing wrong with it – the sound is detailed, natural, with natural dynamics. The saxophone sounds very decent – its voice is bright and realistic, you can hear the musician’s breath clearly. Vocal parts sound well – emotions, intonation of the performer, timbre coloring, catching the “game” of voice. Not bad sounds piano, although it feels some coolness, artificiality. Quite naturally reproduced acoustic guitar, you can clearly hear the individual plucking, bass notes sound confident.

The sound to the movies was listened to in mode 5.1, as well as in VSM mode, which creates, according to the manufacturer, a feeling of listening to a 10-format system.1.

The dialogues are nicely reproduced with the voices of the heroes, but at the same time they lack focus – the sound gets a little blurry in some places. The system creates a good audio panorama, closed, without gaps. In VSM mode the sound is significantly amplified in comparison with VSM mode 5 .1 Immersion effect, you get the impression that the line between reality and what’s happening on the screen is erased, and you’re a full-fledged participant of events. Also in VSM mode the transmission of small details – the sound of footsteps, soft conversations, the noise of the forest – is improved.

FUNCTIONALITY

Of course, before proceeding directly to the listening and viewing, the system must be adjusted. You can do this while communicating with the system via the OSD menu. Executed it is very well – a logical breakdown into sections, all thought-out, convenient, pleasing to the eye a nice combination of colors, easy-to-read font – in general, from the work with the menu, you’ll get real pleasure.
