The update includes features that will allow photographers to discover impressive new shooting opportunities:

1. Autofocus AF with eye recognition in photo mode

2. Expanded AF response range in low light conditions

3. Auto Exposure AE with tracking in continuous high-speed mode CH+.

Key features of firmware version 2.0

1. Autofocus AF with eye recognition in photo mode

With a new autofocus AF function, the camera automatically detects and focuses on human eyes in AF-S, AF-C auto-area selection mode. When multiple people’s eyes are detected, the multi selector or auxiliary selector can be used to select the desired focus subject – even when viewed through the electronic viewfinder. After shooting, the user can easily check the result by pressing the “OK” button to enlarge the image and check the accuracy of focusing on the eyes of a particular person.

2. Expanded AF response range in low-light conditions

New firmware provides even faster autofocus when shooting dark or low-light scenes in stills or movies. It extends the AF response range* from -1 EV to -2 EV for the Z 7 camera and from -2 EV to -3.5 EV for the Z 6 camera. When AF in low light is turned on on Z 6, the available AF response range increases from -4 EV to -6 EV, so autofocus is possible even in low light conditions.

3. Automatic exposure AE with tracking in continuous high-speed CH mode+

Previously, exposure in high-speed continuous burst mode was fixed on the first shot. However, the firmware version 2.0 added support for automatic exposure with tracking in continuous high-speed mode CH+, t. e. Provides exposure control and shooting accuracy AF with tracking . This ensures that all images shot in high-speed continuous burst mode are not only sharp, but also optimally exposed – even when the brightness of the scene changes during a single high-speed burst.
