Powerful 36 V class rotary hammers just got even better: Bosch replaces the previous models with a new generation of cordless rotary hammers – GBH 36 V-LI Plus Professional and GBH 36 VF-LI Plus Professional. Chuck V and interchangeable VF models are available to choose from. Compared to previous models, both rotary hammers benefit from higher performance, longer service life, new comfort features, effective vibration damping and extended battery life.

New 36 V rotary hammers with 3.2 Joule percussion and reliable motors guarantee a high level of drilling and chiseling performance. The 4-brush motor, unlike the previous 2-brush motor, ensures a longer service life by reducing the load on the individual brushes. Additionally, it is better cooled thanks to the optimized geometry of the ventilation slots. It is twice as durable as its predecessor. The rare-earth elements used here as magnets support a permanent magnetic field that makes the motor even more powerful while retaining the same compact design. The GBH 36 V-LI Plus Professional and GBH 36 VF-LI Plus Professional with the powerful 4.0 Ah CoolPack battery weigh only 4.5 to 4.6 kg.

Both new rotary hammers are equipped with Electronic Rotation Control ERC and Electronic Precision Control EPC . These innovative electronic systems from Bosch ensure more comfortable operation and better control: In the case of the ERC system, the integrated sensor detects sudden blockages during operation – such as when a drill bit is twisted in metal or hits a hard object in masonry – and switches the motor off instantly to protect the user’s wrist. EPC system facilitates high-precision work in fragile materials. When the EPC function is activated, the maximum power of the hammer is limited to 70% for a smoother start-up. It makes it possible to work on soft materials, like ceramic tile, directly in drill/impact mode, which means you can save time by skipping a single work step. Drill bit drift is prevented and high-precision results can be achieved quickly and easily. In addition, the new tools are equipped with an effective vibration damping system: the damping element separates the main handle from the hammer drive and thus reduces the vibration load on the user compared to the previous model by 25%.

New hammer drills with proven lithium-ion technology for a wide range of applications, from simple to complex tasks. Whether you’re drilling small holes in ceramic tile or masonry, or drilling large-scale chisels in series mode, the new cordless rotary hammers handle these tasks quickly and accurately. Also when drilling with hollow core bits for junction boxes with large diameters up to 82 mm the high single stroke energy combined with the extended battery life ensures a consistently high output. In addition, with the GBH 36 VF-LI Plus Professional and its included quick-action drill chuck, professionals can use round shank drill bits when drilling wood and metal.

The new cordless drill helps plumbers, electricians, masonry workers and carpenters, whose work requires mobility, to cut tooling costs and save valuable time. For example, charging time is reduced from 80 to 35 minutes with the included GAL 3680 CV Professional rapid charger. In terms of operating comfort, the rotary hammers are also built using proven Bosch solutions. Worthy of note are the LED lights on the housing that illuminate the work area and the optimised shape of the instruments: the handle is now in line with the drilling axis, ensuring comfortable and fatigue-free work. Additionally, the padded handle provides a good grip and the L-shape gives the hammer a better balance.

The GBH 36 V-LI Plus Professional and GBH 36 VF-LI Plus Professional cordless rotary hammers are available from specialist retailers from May 2015. at the recommended prices of 739 euros and 789 euros, including VAT. Kit includes L-BOXX, two 4.0 Ah batteries and quick charger. The dust extraction system GDE 16 Plus Professional can be used as a system tool for dust-free work.
