Combining the powerful High Efficiency Video Codec HEVC compression algorithm with the industry’s most popular Material eXchange Format MXF container, Canon has developed the XF-HEVC file format. The HEVC standard, which relies on the latest encoding technology, is about twice as efficient as traditional H.264/AVC. XF-HEVC format makes it easy to work with 4K UHD and lets you save 10-bit 4K UHD 50P 4:2:2 video directly to popular SD cards.

The XF705 supports internal HDR recording using Hybrid Log Gamma HLG and Perceptual Quantisation PQ . Also features auxiliary functions for easy exposure control in HDR shooting. In addition, the XF705 can generate an SDR signal at the same time as recording an HDR file to an SD card, opening up a wide range of possibilities for working with both formats at once. New camera supports 12G-SDI interface that delivers high-quality uncompressed UHD 50P signal over a single SDI cable and can stream 4K UHD HDR video in HEVC format over a network. Broadcasters and video production professionals will appreciate the XF705’s capabilities, taking 4K UHD HDR recording to the next level.
