Compactness and performance
The XA45 is a very compact camcorder weighing about 730g body only . Despite this, with a 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor and DIGIC DV6 image processor, it delivers crisp, stunning 4K UHD and Full HD over-sampling video, meeting the growing demand for quality content.
Unlike XA15 and XA11, the new camera supports professional XF-AVC recording format, enriching the workflow with additional metadata that enhances post-production workflow. The camcorder supports 4K UHD XF-AVC or Full HD2 at a maximum bit rate of 160 Mbps at 25.00P and 45 Mbps in Full HD. Camcorders such as the XA45 are helping to create the 4K content of the future while accommodating the continuing demand for Full HD. XA45 in Full HD offers 25.00P, 50.00P and 50.00. The XA45 features a high quality 20x optical zoom lens with an impressive zoom ratio for such a compact camcorder: the focal length ranges from 29.3mm at the widest angle to 601mm in telephoto 35mm film equivalent . The zoom can be further increased with the built-in 2x teleconverter. Digital zoom of up to 400x allows you to shoot from a distance that would otherwise be impossible. The XA45 features three image stabilization modes: Standard, Dynamic and Boost. Prevents blurring in all conditions of use.
In December 2020, Canon released a firmware update for its range of camcorders, including the XF405/XF400, XA40/XA45, XA55/XA50 as well as the LEGRIA HF G60 and HF G50.
