DESIGN FEATURES

BBK DK 2871HD home theater system is quite an “imposing” construction. Front and rear speakers are made in the form of two-storey columns, mounted on a rather weighty round base covered in high-gloss black plastic.

As for design, the system will perfectly fit both classic and modern interiors. The remote control is very easy to hold, the keys are located very logically, it’s a pleasure to use it.

SOUND QUALITY

In stereo mode, the system creates a well-designed acoustic picture. All the instruments are unmistakably located: close your eyes and you can place the pianist, the saxophone player and the double bass exactly where you hear it. The bass is missing in some places, but when you turn on the function BASS BOOST, which raises the bass level, everything falls into place, the bass gets proper power and firmness. It should be noted, though, that the subwoofer starts to rattle a little bit at some frequencies. Piano recordings are reproduced very realistically, warmly, with correct tones. Acoustic guitar sounds rather natural, every note is clear and bass is reproduced confidently.

Saxophone sounds warm and emotional, you hear different details, and at times it feels like you’re listening not to a recording, but to a real live performance. The percussion instruments sound very natural, with natural dynamics and good bass. The domination of high frequencies is heard in some places in the vocal parts, but, in general, the voice sounds very good, emotional, with a pleasant “live” timbre.

Also note, that maximum volume level is not high, and monumental appearance of the system does not correspond to the real sound power level.

When playing multi-channel audio for movies, the system gives a well-crafted sound environment. You can hear various small sounds – voices in the background, crunch of branches, rustling of tires. It gives a very authentic and immersive feeling, right from the very beginning of the viewing experience you feel you are a real participant in the events on the screen. The dialogues are not bad – they sound focused, with a natural timbre, and the characters’ voices are well and emotionally portrayed.

PERFORMANCE

The screen menu of the device is very user friendly – convenient and clear sections, good design – all this will make your communication with the system easy and pleasant. Tired of watching “non rewinding” ads at the beginning of the DVD while waiting for the movie?

No problem – with Q-Play the “non rewindable” commercials become quite rewindable – one click on the Q-Play button and you’re already watching the film. A special virtual control panel is provided for system operation directly during viewing – the same playback control keys as on the remote control can be displayed on the screen, you can move between the virtual keys with a joystick and scroll wheel. The MEM function allows you to memorize a place on the disc – press the MEM button, then the disc can be stopped and ejected, the next time you start this disc you can press the MEM button and playback will start from the memorized moment. On board USB-interface allows you to play files from different portable media – flash memory, MP3-players, etc.p.

DK 2871HD equipped with the KARAOKE+ system, which greatly expands the possibilities of KARAOKE. KARAOKE+ disc, included in the set, recorded in a special way – the part of the soloist is recorded in the right channel, the part of the backing vocals and music – in the left channel. So you can play a song either as a duet with the soloist or use his part as an example while learning the song, setting a low volume, and you can also set the volume of the vocalist’s part to zero at all.
