FUJINON XF lenses: from three to five

FUJIFILM launches two new FUJINON XF lenses. The total number of models available has now increased to five, expanding creative shooting possibilities. The Fujinon XF lenses represent the pinnacle of Fujifilm optical technology and feature high quality glass construction with aspherical lens elements.

FUJINON compact lens

The new lineup of Fujinon XF lenses emphasizes high angle resolution as well as vignetting. Quick iris control broadens the creative options for low-light situations and when a beautiful bokeh effect is required.

The lenses have FUJINON’s “Super EBC” coating to reduce reflection at a wider range of wavelengths, thereby controlling ghosting. Use the intuitive 1/3-step aperture ring to control exposure and depth of field with a high level of precision.

FUJINON compact lens “XF18-55mm F2.8-4 R LM OIS” is the first zoom lens in the Fujinon XF lens lineup

This lens allows you to work with commonly used focal lengths ranging from a wide angle of 18mm to a telephoto of 55mm*. Lens construction consists of 14 elements in 10 groups, including 3 aspherical elements and 1 element of special non-scattering glass, as well as a seven-blade diaphragm.

The linear motor drive system delivers high-speed autofocus in 0.1 second, enabling you to capture great shots. Quiet operation allows the lens to be used for video recording.

Despite the small aperture value of F2.8 – 4.0 This lens has a compact construction due to the advanced optical and mechanical technologies. A fast and highly portable lens that delivers superb image quality in a variety of scenes, suitable for low-light photography and bokeh effect.

It incorporates Optical Image Stabilization to compensate for camera shake and prevent blurring.

Equipped with an aperture ring so that you can easily adjust the aperture while keeping your eye to the viewfinder.

Fujinon XF14mmF2.8 R wide-angle lens

Fujinon “XF14mmF2.8 R” is a superb wide angle lens, providing high resolution throughout the frame

Advanced optical design has been used to overcome the distortion-prone tendency of wide-angle lenses to control distortion without digital correction. This contributed to the high resolution over the entire image area for this wide angle lens.

The lens is constructed with 10 elements in 7 groups including 2 aspherical elements and 3 special non-dispersive glass elements and a seven-blade diaphragm.

The lens barrel has distance and depth-of-field marks which allow the lens to be used for a variety of shooting techniques such as pre-focusing.

With a minimum aperture of F2.8 this lens is well suited to low light conditions. The short minimum shooting distance of 18cm effectively blurs the background and enables the perspective of ultra wide-angle lenses.

FUJIFILM X Mount cameras have a short back focus distance to eliminate vignetting and achieve clarity and brightness over the entire frame.

This lens is good at preventing image distortion and chromatic aberration and achieving high resolution from all angles, making it an excellent choice for landscapes.

For users of the FUJIFILM X-Pro1 and X-E1

The first time you use these lenses, you need to update your camera software.

The software will be delivered on an SD card in the lens package or can be downloaded from the “Support” area of the Fujifilm Global website. For more information, please visit the following link. Every version of the firmware will be available soon:
