Dell unveils new PCs and software and announces new partnerships at CES 2018

Dell is unveiling stylish new products and software designed for work and entertainment at the annual Consumer Electronics Show CES in Las Vegas, January 9-12. Dell introduces the innovations behind these products that are designed to improve performance, functionality and user experience.

Engineering accomplishments: the XPS 13 laptop and the XPS 15 2-in-1 device

The XPS product line has earned the most awards in Dell history. The XPS 13 notebook has been completely revamped, with the model winning the CES 2018 Innovation Award. Equipped with the new generation InfinityEdge 4K Ultra HD display. In addition to the traditional silver body with black trim on the inside, the XPS 13 will be available in a rose gold body with a white alpine white textured fiberglass interior.

Compared to its predecessor, the new XPS 13 has a narrower frame and supports an 80% wider temperature range. The laptop has a thinner, lighter design and features Dell Power Manager technology that gives users the power they need at a moment’s notice. GORE Thermal Insulation material, based on the silica aerogel used in Mars Rovers, is used to dissipate heat from internal components. This innovative material helps prevent systems from overheating under heavy load.

The company also introduces the first 2-in-1 XPS 15 device, taking the niche of thin, lightweight and powerful mobile devices for home and professional users. The XPS 15 Transformer is by far the most powerful computer in its class with a 15-inch display. It’s the epitome of engineering excellence, with innovative technology at every level. Representing the perfect balance between high performance and compact size, the thinnest and lightest 15.6-inch display1 transformer on the market is powerful enough to run graphics and video editors, handle large files and play high-end casual games.

The Dell Mobile Connect app, included on all new Dell PCs, allows owners to make calls, send messages, receive notifications and even use apps installed on their smartphone right on the PC2.

Now more than ever, people watch video on their PCs, expecting movies and shows to deliver the level of visual and sound effects their creators intended. From now on, all these experiences can be had on XPS and select Inspiron models, thanks to the Dell Cinema suite of technologies:

• CinemaColor. Based on Windows HD Color and developed with Microsoft, this technology decodes and displays content in High Dynamic Range HDR with greater detail, expanded color gamut, improved brightness and richer color tones. Dell Cinema PCs support Netflix streaming service with HDR for online viewing of movies and shows.

• CinemaSound. Exclusive Dell-powered technology with Waves Maxx Audio Pro delivers clearer highs and deeper bass for a more immersive movie and TV experience.

• CinemaStream . The app is built on Killer and SmartByte solutions and developed in conjunction with Rivet Networks it optimizes video content streaming, reducing latency and improving image quality.

Dell introduces new version of Alienware Command Center software and sponsors eSports training centers

Dell releases a new version of Alienware Command Center, an application for managing system settings, content and other tasks. Working with the application has become easier due to the new, clearer interface. Alienware Command Center helps novice and experienced gamers configure PC hardware and peripherals.

Users can now access their game library from all sources on their PC, easily create custom profiles for each game, and extract additional performance with power management and overclocking tools.

AlienFX 2 hits the market at the same time.0, Alienware’s second-generation backlighting technology for Alienware gaming PCs, branded mice and keyboards. New version of Alienware Command Center offers even more options for backlighting individual keys and groups of keys, and each zone can be assigned one of 16.8 million colors.

This is not the first year Dell and Alienware have supported eSports, with 2007′s. companies have sponsored the first games of the Championship Gaming Series they work with Team Liquid, Team Dignitas and ELEAGUE, and recently partnered with gaze-tracking technology company Tobii. Alienware is currently the equipment supplier for Team Liquid, which uses some Alienware peripherals mice, keyboards and monitors for training and competition.

Dell Announces Alienware eSports Training Facility for Team Liquid, Setting New Standard for eSports Training Centers. The center is 740 sq. The Alienware Virtual Reality Center, located in Los Angeles, will serve as Team Liquid’s headquarters. There will be services of coordinators, psychologists, nutritionists, personal trainers and analysts. Gamers will have a training space equipped with everything they need, including the latest and most powerful technology from Dell and Alienware. The new center will be a training ground for the most competitive events, while the technical staff will ensure the smooth use of technology and create content for eSports fans.

Dell Brings Virtual Reality to Life

Alienware works with NVIDIA and Oculus on new ways to bring virtual reality technology to eSports competitions. These new ways involve players using not only their physical skills, but their mental abilities as well. Partners aim to bring such cybersports to the masses. Over the past two months, more than 200 participants from 14 cities have battled it out on Alienware systems for the best time in a game of Sprint Vector from developer Survios.

Dell also announces new Dell Inspiron Gaming Desktop with Virtual Reality support. With its relatively low cost, more users will have access to virtual reality technology. Designed specifically for gamers, the new Inspiron Gaming Desktop PC will feature eighth-generation Intel Core™ processors which contain up to 6 cores , graphics cards and, depending on the package, SSD storage that will reduce boot times. Intelligent heat dissipation system lets you enjoy your games without interruption.

On January 9, Dell became the first PC manufacturer to bring the consumer version of the HTC Vive helmet to market worldwide. In addition to selling the HTC Vive Business Edition helmet, Dell has partnered with Meta to develop and supply augmented reality AR helmets. It will allow developers of VR and AR solutions to use the latest technology.

Continuing to be the market leader in computer monitors, Dell introduced new models of monitors with the record brightness level among analogs on the market3: Dell 27 Ultrathin Monitor S2719DM and Dell 24 Ultrathin Monitor S2419HM . Both monitors have excellent color reproduction and support extended dynamic range content display CinemaColor technology . This means richer colors on the screen, improved contrast and greater clarity. InfinityEdge uniquely slim-frame design lets you immerse yourself in what’s happening on the other side of the screen. Maximum brightness is 600 nits. The monitors’ enclosure is thin, just 5.5 mm at its thinnest.

Dell Latitude, the mobile workforce-focused line of notebook and 2-in-1 devices with remote maintenance and enterprise data security features, has been updated with the latest Intel® vPro™ eighth generation dual and quad-core processors with 15 watts of power. New chips deliver significantly faster performance without sacrificing battery life.

Tests show significant performance gains over previous-generation chip-based products.
