JVC has released new cinema projector calibration software

JVC has released the latest version of its projector calibration software. The software supports all new products in 2014, as well as models of 2013.

The projector calibration software is designed for optimal image adjustment in various conditions and works in conjunction with an optical sensor not included with the projectors, sold separately . It is available for free download on the manufacturer’s website.

Basic functionality

Autocalibration

Accurate calibration can be made in a few easy steps, regardless of projector installation conditions e.g.: room position, lens shift, zoom, etc .d. Also, auto-calibration keeps the image at the highest quality level as the lamp life increases.

Ambient setting

– Adjusts projector settings based on room conditions to reduce the effects of image degradation such as light walls or ambient light.

– Import/Export of image quality settings

– Allows you to save the settings made on your computer, and download previously saved settings into projector memory over a LAN.

Your hardware and software must meet the following conditions to use the calibration software:

  • Software version: JVC_PJ_Calibration5_en_v1_00.zip
  • Sensor: Spyder4 Elite/Pro Datacolor
  • Operating Systems:
    • Microsoft Windows 8 32/64bit
    • Microsoft Windows 7 32/64bit recommended
    • Microsoft Windows Vista 32bit
    • HDD Storage: 256MB or larger
    • RAM 256MB 1GB or more recommended
    • Support:.NET Framework 3.0/3.5*
    • Port availability: USB, LAN
    • LAN cable

Note:

  • The above requirements are not a 100% guarantee that the calibration software works on your computer
  • Macintosh systems are not supported

Q : Is it possible to use any other optical sensors?

A: No, only the sensors that come with the Spyder4Elite and Spyder4Pro work. You cannot use the sensor supplied with the Spyder4Express.

Q: Can I also use the software that comes with the Spyder3 or Spyder4?

A : No.

Q: Can I use the calibration software on Windows XP/98/Me/2000 systems?

A : None.

Q : Is it possible to make calibration when displaying 3D image?

A : No. In addition, calibration cannot be performed when playing content from a 4K source.

Q : Can the calibration software be used for other projectors?

A : In addition to the DLA-X900R/X700R/X500R/ RS67/RS57/RS49, it can be used with the DLA-X95R/X75R/RS66/RS56.
