Zanussi and AEG washing machines: now to dry!

In September 2011 a magazine published by the Good Housekeeping Institute conducted a study to determine the differences between washing machines with dryers and units with separate functions on the market today.

Eleven washer-dryers were tested as part of the study. Testing was conducted on the performance and eco-friendliness of washing machines to determine if two-in-one devices are really so cost-effective that it affects consumer choice.

The leading positions among the five washing machines that met the requirements were occupied by two models: Zanussi ZKG7145 and AEG Lavamat L16850.

GHI notes: “In the past, washing machines with a drying function were not popular due to poor drying capacity and low performance compared to those machines in which the washing and drying functions were separated.

Now we are happy to tell you that the latest models have improved markedly in terms of these features.”. In this testing, GHI set out to uncover the “weaknesses” of dryer washers, such as drying capacities, water consumption, and over drying.

In the test, GHI named the Zanussi ZKG7145 Dryer as a “Best Buy” and a “Budget Buy,” giving it the highest overall score of 71 out of 100. GHI noted that the ZKG7145 has “the lowest energy consumption for a combined wash and dry program” 27 points and “good results for cotton and synthetics at 40 degrees.

What’s more, the ZKG7145 washer-dryer uses less water 61 liters to wash cotton” than another brand that was compared. The latter requires 80 liters to run the same program, but is more expensive by more than 15,000 Dollars!

The AEG L16850 washer-dryer was the “Best of the Rest”. GHI notes that the AEG Lavamat L16850 has “low energy consumption for the synthetics drying program” 15 points and “short drying time 1 hour and 45 minutes for the delicate cotton program”.

The Zanussi and AEG models scored the highest out of eleven dryer washers tested: The Zanussi ZKG7145 received 71 points out of 100, and the AEG Lavamat L16850 scored 70 out of 100.
