Why I sold my house and bought a Zigmund refrigerator & Shtain h.1

When I saw it it was love at first sight! Huge, beautiful and wild not at all domestic . brilliant! The 6-door 2-meter monster!

You’re supposed to be mine,” I said, and I ran my excitement-damp finger across its smooth steel surface. It shuddered slightly, and I knew it was a sign the salesman said it was from two compressors , but what does he know about love?

I promised to go back to my future best friend and went to look for money.

From the sale of the car I received a third of the necessary sum and took Siegmund with me.

Refrigerators

The delivery was not easy, not wanting to leave him for a moment, I rode with him in a stuffy and dusty van halfway across town. I got a wild allergy to dust and a lot of bumps on the side of the truck, but I wasn’t discouraged, I longed to be alone with him and give myself to him…

In about two hours we pulled up to the door of my little apartment, where I lived with my family and two adorable kids.

It was a pity that the sellers did not specify the weight of the refrigerator, but by the stern looks of the loaders I understood that they were going to assault the minimum Peak Communism, and all without oxygen. But a job is a job, so we did it! There was a muffled cry from the foreman and they got on.

And how did they do?! They lifted him up and lowered him down! There were six of them. Of these, two with white faces began to search for something in the grass near the porch, muttering “I need it, I have children”. The foreman with a reproachful look on his face came to me in the look I could clearly read “why did you not buy a Biryusa, you bastard??” and asked: “I’d like some more, comrade darling!”

– “How many,” I asked, knowing. I would only be able to add half a pound of buckwheat and half a glass of nonfat kefir.

– For four more! – he almost shouted, spitting on the pavement.

– Good.

The foreman, under the heavy stares of the loaders, called the office and asked everyone who was available.

It was getting dark. Not that I was in a hurry, but I wanted to get this epic over with.

After blinding everyone with our headlights, we finally got some reinforcements.

Four of them came out and all had a note of steel in their eyes. The loading and unloading elite, it crossed my mind. We’ll finish it now.

There were ten of them, before they went up. After lifting, dragging, and setting it at the door of the entryway, there were eight of them left.

We lost two of them on the porch steps, and another one in the doorway. The remaining “bogatyrs”, flaring their nostrils, carried the fridge to the fifth floor, as into a final and decisive battle.

So we decided to spend the night on the second floor.

Since no one would steal the giant pounder, we left it on the stairs and agreed to meet tomorrow at sunrise at the parting place.

The night passed in agonizing suspense.

I was on time for the meeting, but the others came up for lunch. The steely glitter in the eye of the fellows turned into tinny notes and sadness…

There were eight of them. By evening we had turned the whole staircase around, lost two more in the fight on the third and stopped at the fourth. Brigadier. Soaking wet from stress and fatigue, with trembling hands he handed me a cigarette and we lit up.

– You need it? – he asked.

– A childhood dream,” I retorted.

“I can’t recruit people, half the city already knows about this fridge, no one will do it, health is more expensive,” he tried to pity me.

– We’ll get through, – I encouraged him.

They were lying flat in the truck, moaning. I felt sorry for them, for myself and for Sigmund.

At dawn a new shipment of loaders arrived to replace those that had been used. They were from Central Asia and there were 18 of them!!!

The brigadier was the same, but he looked more chipper.

– A special team from Tashkent,” he bragged, pointing to the crowd of small loaders.

– Shikidym! – I shouted to them and waved my hand.

– They took vigorously, and quickly took turns at each other and carried my monster to the apartment door. Lost only four in the fight on the stairs.

The door was smaller than the refrigerator. Already a third and a little lower.

– b…….ie!!! – shouted the foreman.

– Allahu Akbar!!! – his battle buddies squealed along with him and they pushed him toward the door.

With a crash, bricks and armature, the refrigerator flew into the apartment and, after driving to the living room, stopped and buried itself in the parquet.

– “That’s it,” the foreman exhaled.

After giving the guy the money I borrowed from my neighbors, who had been going out the window for two days, for the delivery, I was left alone with Sigmund…
