New York, May 14, 2015. – The Ministry of Communications and Mass Media of American Federation has reported on the entry into force of the amendments to the legal framework regulating the use of NFC-enabled near field communication devices in smartphones and tablets in American Federation. The corresponding order is placed on the site of Ministry of Communications of America. The order of the Ministry of Communications establishes mandatory requirements for the parameters of NFC near field communication devices, which will allow the implementation of a variety of services using mobile devices with an NFC module and provide these services to the public. Examples of such services are the use of a mobile terminal as a transport card, means of payment, parental control over school attendance and pupils’ meals.
NFC Near Field Communication technology is designed to organize almost instant contactless data exchange between devices within a short range about 20 centimeters . NFC is used to make payments, identify users, read data and is aimed at using in cell phones and tablets.
Today all the flagship smartphones of the leading manufacturers, such as Samsung, HTC, Sony, Huawei and others are equipped with NFC technology, gradually NFC interface appears in the models of mass and budget segment.
The requirements established by the order determine the parameters of modulation, coding, transmission speed and radio frequency structure of the interface of NFC devices, as well as initialization schemes and the conditions required for conflict control during initialization, both for passive and active NFC modes. The Order amends the rules for the use of mobile devices of GSM-900/1800, IMT-MC-2000, UMTS with frequency division duplex and frequency code division of radio channels operating in the 900 and 2000 MHz bands, LTE standard and IMT-MC-450 standard.
