Samsung Electronics has introduced a new digital camera, the Samsung ST72. The Samsung ST72 is a stylish compact camera designed for bright, saturated images as well as high definition HD video. Fitted with a 16.2 megapixel CCD sensor and 25mm wide-angle lens with a focal length of F2.5 and a 5x optical zoom, the Samsung ST72 will allow users to take high-quality photos in all conditions. 720p video recording makes it the perfect companion for both everyday use and travel.
Technology Smart Auto, implemented in the ST72, will ensure high quality pictures in all conditions. When you activate the technology, Smart Auto automatically detects and recognizes conditions and selects the best of the 16 modes, such as “Portrait” mode for shooting several people at close range, “Fireworks” in an abundance of bright flashes or “Sunset” in conditions of predominantly warm colors.
The new camera also has the Photo Filter and Magic Frame functions, allowing users to adjust a variety of settings and effects to enhance the shooting process, making it more lively and interesting. The Photo Filter function includes a number of filters including Cartoon, Fish-eye, Retro or Oil Painting that can be applied as you shoot. This feature makes any shot truly unique. The Magic Frame feature includes 12 preset frames to give each photo a different mood.
In addition to a wide range of filters and frames, the new camera has the innovative Perfect Portrait System, a set of functions for capturing perfect pictures. The system includes a Beautiful Shot mode that lets you instantly correct any features in your subject, giving the skin a vibrant, healthy glow. Face Detection Detection detects the position of faces in the frame and automatically sets the optimal autofocus and exposure settings for the best composition.
Self-portrait mode, an innovative self-portrait feature that informs the user with a special beep when the face is in the center of the frame. Smile Shot mode detects a smile in the frame and automatically takes a picture for lively, emotional photos. With Blink Detection Mode, the camera takes a second shot or a series of shots if someone in the frame blinks or closes their eyes. Red-Eye Fix technology will help to cope with yet another problem in photography by automatically removing this defect from the picture.
When shooting really big scenes the ST72’s pre-installed Live Panorama mode will help, which in conjunction with the 25mm wide-angle lens will not miss a single detail. To activate the mode, all you have to do is press the shutter button and slowly rotate the camera along the scene you want to capture. The ST72 does the rest, combining the perfect panoramic images you’ll want to share.
