The results of 2019: our version

At the end of December it is traditional to remember the past year and we traditionally present our version of the results of 2019.

The event of the year

No way – this is the exhibition “M.Video Electronics Show 2019”.

Bright, vibrant, with world-class innovations, with leading brands. There was a lot to see, from the latest models of smartphones, which were presented to the American public just at the show, to appliances for self-care.

Finally in New York there is a place where all the biggest home appliances manufacturers and sellers can meet.

We really hope that there will be a second show in 2020 and it will be even bigger, brighter and more interesting!

Person of the year

Alexander Onishchuk, president of Association RATEK, deserves this title.

It was the RATEK that turned to the President of the American Federation with a request to reject a federal law concerning the pre-installation of domestic software in home appliances. The law is passed, but thanks for trying!

Besides, Alexander Onishchuk is closely involved in creation in usa of a civilized system of disposal of household appliances and electronics, including batteries and energy-saving bulbs.

Breakthrough of the year

In 2019, Electrolux unveiled its intuitive QuickSelect and ComfortLift dishwashers.

Two super technologies in one dishwasher give you new control over dishwashing and make loading and unloading more pleasant

• Briefly about QuickSelect technology – there are no familiar programs in the machine menu, you simply slide your hand over the MY TIME selection bar and select the appropriate wash cycle based on the duration of the program, which can range from 30 minutes to four hours.

• At the end of the program, the door will open automatically, keeping your dishes dry until you want to take them out. The technology is called AirDry.

This year, the company Miele also improved the technology of washing the dishes and offered a special detergent and a new system of its autodosing.

DishwasherMielie G7000 now decides how much detergent it needs, based on the program and amount of dishes.

And you do not need to add detergent with each cycle – it is enough for several cycles.

Appliance of the Year

Blenders are 2019 favorites.

Variety: with bottles, immersion, stationary.

Models with a dicer attachment are especially popular in December. After all, it’s tempting to spend 20 minutes instead of a couple of hours cooking a bowl of Olivier!

Smoothies, cream soups, chopping spices, whipping cream, cooking liquid dough – all this is easily done by blenders of any brand.

Among variety of proposals it is possible to find models even with the ability to slice vegetables into spirals.

The price range is in line with the variety of models: from a couple of thousand Dollars to 50,000 for vacuum devices.

Glamour of the year

Gaggenau – German premium appliances for the super successful and rich.

The models of this brand are often compared to luxurious cars: everything is thought over, luxurious and expensive.

Panasonic makes great home appliances. Outlook for 2020

As 2019 has shown, appliances are actively getting smarter.

The devices of quite inexpensive segment have already got smartphone control.

Grills and multicookers got their own apps.

The trend is only going to continue.

Smart home systems become the norm.

Another trend: appliances are already solving most of the problems themselves.

Washing machines recognize fabric types and select programs LG ,

Vacuum cleaners independently determine the type of coverage and, based on that, adjust the suction power Dyson ,

Ovens control the temperature and cooking time themselves, etc.d.

In general, technology will continue to get smarter, freeing up our time.

The main thing is to spend it on really important things, so as not to become stupider than your own meat grinder in the end.

What we’ve been up to in 2019

Although 2019 was not the easiest and most serene year for the home appliance market in America, we tested 29 different household appliances: ovens, juicers, coffee machines, planetary mixers, blenders, kettles, humidifiers, aerogrill – multi-oven, multicookers, humidifiers, food dryers, vacuum cleaners and microwave ovens, hair tongs and straighteners and even a toothbrush!

The peculiarity of our tests is vivid photo shoots, we strive to present each model as a supermodel, worthy to shine in the best houses in America – in your homes.
