Powerful 50x optical zoom

The biggest advantage of the S9400W/S9200 is definitely the Fujinon 50x optical zoom lens. New fast lens with f/2 aperture.9-6.5 provides a huge range of focal lengths from 24-1200mm *1, which can be zoomed in up to an incredible 100x with Fujifilm’s Intelligent Digital Zoom technology. With this range, no subject will be out of the camera’s reach again, and Super Macro mode lets you take detailed close-up shots from as little as 1cm away.

High image quality is ensured by the optical design of the lens. Included 3 aspherical and 2 non-dispersive lenses keep aberrations to a minimum so photographers can be assured of high quality images throughout the range.

Image clarity is also improved by the lens shift image stabilization system, which reduces the effect of blurring due to camera shake, particularly at high zoom levels. Additional stability is achieved by placing the zoom lever on the side of the lens ring so you can adjust the zoom with your left hand and press the shutter button with your right.

High-speed, high-quality sensor

The S9400W/S9200’s 16.2-megapixel 1/2.3-inch BSI-CMOS sensor delivers the best results at all ISO settings up to 12,800. Combined with high focus speeds, it allows photographers to be sure of getting great results in half the time.

The S9400W/S9200 models are ready to shoot in as little as a second after powering on, with auto focus in as little as 0.3 seconds, and the next shot can be taken in as little as 0.5 seconds *2 after the previous. Those who want to take quick bursts of full-resolution photos can do so with the 10 fps continuous shooting mode no more than 10 frames .

Photo equipment

Full HD video with improved image stabilization

The S9400W/S9200 are not only powerful still cameras, they’re also capable of making equally compelling video recordings. Full HD 1920 x 1080 video recording is possible at up to 60fps and scene recognition during video shooting to ensure optimum performance and results. Added versatility with six advanced filter functions adding artistic effects to movies. Also features an Accelerated Shooting Mode *3 with 480 frames per second and a separate video recording button, which will not let you miss an interesting event.

To ensure smooth, professional-looking movies, Fujifilm has developed a new five-axis image stabilization system combining biaxial optical and three-axial electronic stabilization, minimizing unwanted camera movement. Motion is tightly controlled when the camera is moved vertically, horizontally or in a circle, even if the operator walks.

Trimming and stitching provides additional processing after the video has been shot. The former allows you to effortlessly cut out unnecessary parts of your video footage, while the latter gives you the ability to combine multiple videos into a single file for further editing through the camera’s internal functions.

Huge number of photo shooting functions

Like most pseudo-lensfinder cameras, the Fujifilm S9400W and S9200 are equipped with powerful photo features. Various photo shooting effects are provided in the form of 10 advanced filters:

  • Pop Color enhances contrast and color saturation
  • Toy Camera creates shaded borders as if the photo was taken with a broken camera
  • Miniature adds top and bottom blur for a miniature effect
  • Partial Color saves one color red, orange, yellow, green, blue or purple and replaces the other colors with black and white
  • High Key
  • Soft Focus
  • Cross Screen creates a radiant glow around bright subjects
  • Dynamic Tone
  • Fish-Eye super wide angle lens effect
  • Low-Key

In addition to these filters, both cameras include multiframe processing which lets you take two or more images and then combine them into a high dynamic range HDR image. There’s also a “Motion Panorama 360°” mode that lets you take great 360° panoramic photos with a single press of the shutter button.

Any photos can be composed and played back on the rear LCD monitor or built-in electronic viewfinder EVF . The electronic viewfinder on both models is bright enough and has a resolution of 200 thousand. Dots that allow you to view photos even on a bright sunny day.

What is the quality of the zoom on the FinePix S9400W and S9200 mirrorless cameras when shooting in Full HD? Can the zoom effectively capture details through a window from a distance?

The FinePix S9400W and S9200 are not mirrorless cameras, but rather bridge cameras. While they offer a powerful zoom range, their maximum video recording resolution is 1080p Full HD. The quality of the zoom is generally good, but capturing fine details through a window from a distance might be limited due to the camera’s sensor size and potential image degradation caused by the window glass. For optimal results, it’s recommended to shoot closer to the subject without any obstructions.

The FinePix S9400W and S9200 are bridge cameras with impressive zoom capabilities and video quality. While they may struggle with capturing fine details through a window due to sensor size and potential image degradation, shooting closer to the subject without obstructions can yield better results. Overall, these cameras are great for capturing distant subjects and shooting high-quality videos.

These cameras seem quite impressive with their powerful x50 zoom capability and Full HD shooting. However, I’m curious to know more about their mirrorless feature. How does the absence of a mirror affect the overall performance and image quality? Can anyone who has used these cameras provide some insights?
