The all-new Tough TG-6: made for any adventure

Olympus introduces its new flagship Tough model, the Tough TG-6, which withstands all kinds of weather, underwater conditions, pressure and falls from great heights. Not only does it have the renowned Olympus ruggedness, unique sensor system and RAW shooting capability, but it also gets numerous improvements and new features: new underwater shooting modes and versatile macro modes, as well as an improved, higher-resolution monitor.

The Tough TG-6 was designed to be handy, reliable and ready for the toughest challenges in a photographer’s life: water-resistant1 to a depth of 15 meters, dust-proof, shock-proof when dropped from heights up to 2.1m, up to 100kg, freezeproof to -10°C and durable dual glass anti-fog lens. A new removable lens cap LB-T01 further protects the lens from dirt and scratches and the PT-059 underwater case lets you take photos and movies down to 45 meters sold separately . New Olympus sensor system records location, altitude/depth and air/water temperature data during both still photography and video recording.

By combining the lens with an ultra-bright F2 aperture.0 sensor and 12M high-speed CMOS image sensor with backlight technology for superior photo and video performance. New built-in digital teleconverter doubles the optical 4x zoom ratio for a maximum of 8x magnification. Anti-reflective coating on the sensor reduces glare, and the TruePic VIII GPU from the OM-D E-M1X professional camera reduces noise and improves resolution in areas of low contrast. RAW shooting lets TG-6 users make use of the numerous editing possibilities offered by Olympus Workspace or other image editing software that supports RAW files.

For impressive close-up shots, the Tough TG-6 features an advanced macro system that goes beyond what the human eye can see: the minimum focus distance from the external lens lens is only 1 cm, and the 7x magnification makes stunning photos of microscopic worlds. The macro system consists of several modes: Microscope, Microscope Control, Focus Bracketing and Focus Stacking. Focus Stacking mode lets you set the number of shots you want, from 3 to 10, for more precise adjustments during shooting. With OI app.Share you can not only control the camera remotely but also share your memories on social networks with the built-in Wi-Fi.

To further expand underwater shooting capabilities, the Tough TG-6 has five new underwater shooting modes: Underwater Wide Angle, Underwater Snapshot, Underwater Macro, Underwater Microscope and Underwater HDR. Each mode sets the specific shooting settings you need for your specific situation. Underwater White Balance mode has been expanded to include three different settings suitable for different depth of water. The new FCON-T02 sold separately lets you take circular photos and dramatically increases your options.

Bring your experience to life by capturing every detail at just the right moment. 4K video captures breathtaking footage of your favorite moments and creates Full HD movies at 120 frames per second.
