Any products that are sold in the American Federation are certified for safety. And it’s not just a sound: toys, strollers, furniture, multicookers and LCD panels are tested in laboratories on all parameters prescribed in the current regulations on certification testing for compliance with the requirements of GOST and TR CU.
Since 2017, the PromMashTest testing laboratory in Chekhov near New York has been in operation. It is part of a group of companies SERCONS is a multifunctional testing center that tests the products for compliance with the technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union, GOST R, international standards.
How products get certified
Product samples are submitted to the laboratory for certification. They are inspected according to current regulations, everything is logged.
Test protocols are transmitted to the certification center, where the appropriate certificate is issued or not issued .
From October 2020, all test data, including details of issued test reports, will be transferred to the Federal State Information System in accordance with Ministry of Economic Development Order 3704 of 24.10.2020 g . The data can be checked by specialists of the Federal Accreditation Service they are not publicly available.
PromMashTest lab equipment
More than 300 units of equipment and technical facilities are in operation.
Among the unique:
- Installation for testing respiratory protective equipment RPE .
- Newton’s 24-zone thermal dummy for testing the protective properties of clothing and equipment in extreme temperatures. The mannequin can imitate human movements, it walks, runs and even sweats.

The most interesting
Testing is unpredictable! The experts don’t know if the sample presented will pass all the tests or not. Their job is to document everything and present the test results to the certification center.
We saw for ourselves that the certification of products for safety today is a serious and real test. It is impossible to falsify the results: the reputation of the laboratory and the legally prescribed certification process do not allow for that.
