SIZES

HDMI, USB, PCMCIA connectors facing sideways. Component, composite, D-Sub, 2 HDMI, Scart connector are routed to the back.

DESIGN FEATURES

The unit is equipped with Edge LED backlight. LEDs are placed around the edges of the screen to make your TV thinner.

As for picture technology, LG LW4500 uses LG’s patented FPR Film-type Patterned Retarder technology to get a high quality 3D picture.

The TV screen is covered by a special polarizing film that separates the picture on the screen for the left and right eye. Then the CINEMA 3D polarizing glasses are used to recreate a 3D image.

The LG LW4500 comes with four pairs of handy polarizing 3D glasses weighing 16 grams , which have no electrical components and therefore do not emit electromagnetic waves and do not require recharging. For people who wear glasses with dioptres, there are special overhead versions of 3D glasses, which are sold separately.

The brightness of 3D images is provided by a thin film 3D Light Boost, which covers the surface of the screen.

Thanks to the Flexible Viewing Positions and Wide Viewing Angle characteristics LG LW4500 TV is suitable for viewing 3D in large companies, because you can sit or lie down almost anywhere in front of the TV – the wide viewing angle provides quality images in any position.

LG LW4500 3D TV can also convert 2D content into 3D content, so viewers will always have something to watch in 3D mode.

Via USB input, the TV can play photos, music and videos in different formats.

Note the ability to swivel the TV on the stand to put it at the optimum angle.

PICTURE QUALITY

When playing a high-definition signal through the component input resolution was 600-620 TV lines.

Objects movement is smoothly displayed.

In general, the TV showed a large margin of color and brightness. Colors do not change with changing viewing angle, for which the device can only be praised.

Black tones are displayed with sufficiently good detail, the depth of black on medium level. White color is saturated, the detail of vivid scenes is not bad.

On a standard definition signal, the motion is also displayed smoothly, for which, apparently, we have to thank the True Motion technology. Almost no visible comb on the moving oblique lines.

Color palette is quite natural, a little oversaturated in some places on the factory default settings, but if you want you can use the large number of different color adjustments.

When playing a signal from the HDMI input, the flesh tones on the factory default settings were also a little oversaturated.

Motion of objects is smooth, with slight ridges on oblique lines.

We’ll note the large margin of color, however, the proper setting for a comfortable viewing is better to be set to the second half of the scale.

Also mention the large brightness margin, good legibility of black tones.

If you want, you can take advantage of preset picture modes: “smart sensor”, “bright”, “standard”, “movie”, “sports”, “games”, as well as use the expert modes with more detailed settings.

The white color is saturated, and the detail of the bright scenes is not bad.

Resolution of the signal from this input was about 650 TV lines.

AUDIO QUALITY

The speaker system consists of two single-way speakers with the total output power 2×10 watts. LG 42LW4500 demonstrates a good reserve of the volume, without noticeable distortion.

There is an Incredible Surround sound mode, high and low frequency adjustments.

If you want you can use the preset sound modes: “standard”, “music”, “movie”, “sports”, “games”.

SERVICE CAPABILITIES

The main menu consists of eight large square icons spread across the screen, not in a single line as usual.

Remote control is large, black, shiny. It has a button to call up the quick menu, which originally appears in the lower right corner of the screen in the form of a ring.

Sleep and on/off timer included. Tamper-proof function prevents small children from using the TV.

Depending on the subject matter you can select the image format: “16:9”, “original”, “normal”, “full screen”, “4:3”, “14:9”, “zoom”, “zoom”.
