Keeps heat

The manufacturer has established the following standards: at room temperature, the boiling water cools in 6 hours between 70-80 º C, for 12 hours – to 60-70 º C the minimum to judge the serviceability of the thermos .

Our test was tougher and the thermos passed the cold test quite well. Though this model has wide bottom diameter – 120 mm it keeps heat in the same way as narrower thermoses: after 12 hours of staying in the cold chamber at +4°C* thermos ARKTIKA 205-1000 cooled to 63°C*, and after 24 hours – to 42°C*.

Note that the thermos was tested “on water” – tea, coffee, boiling water, and a thicker consistency – like porridge or borscht for winter fishing, will definitely give higher preservation temperatures. Unless, of course, the porridge or borscht is eaten early.

Hygienic

Inner surface of the flask – smooth, with one seam, without roughness.

Taste and smell of drinks: The manufacturer strongly recommends pouring boiling water over the thermos and letting it stand for 20-30 minutes before first use. After this simple sanitization we did not detect any aftertaste of the new plastic. Tea is fragrantly fragrant.

Ergonomics

The overall impression of the test: a stable thermos, which is important if you want to drink tea while driving. Folding handle saves 3 cm of space. But you have to get used to such a springy handle, because it tends to fold up right in your hands.

You will have to pay with two hands for enlarged body diameter which is convenient for thorough trips outdoors: you won’t be able to grasp the thermos with one hand. When pouring the contents into pots, you have to hold the thermos by the handle, not by the body, as we do it automatically with compact models..

Cork: a screw-in wide-mouth spigot is inserted into the other, narrower spigot. The first one should be opened in order to pour liquids or to put food, requiring a wide neck, the second – in order to pour liquids into the cup.

Large plug has a relief on the outside diameter for easy unscrewing and an inner rubber ring for tightness. The small cap has a similar ring and a handle for unscrewing – pretty smooth, with directional indicators for opening and closing.

It is important to screw the lid tightly to the side “close” , so that liquid does not leak if the thermos is horizontal. The warning inscription is in English, but in black on black. You might not even notice.

Neck: Wide 7.5 cm in diameter, 3 cm narrow. A wide neck is convenient for pouring soup and washing the thermos.

The lid-cup consists of two bowls, the first is made of stainless steel with a plastic handle, the inside is covered with food plastic, the second is a plastic bowl. It is better to hold the cups by the side edges.
