Test juicer AXION SC 22.02

Drinking technology

Juicers

Perfect result of squeezing juice from apples taking into account that the test was conducted in April, when you can not find really juicy apples anymore . Ability to control the amount of pulp in the juice right during juicing. Convenient loading neck: carrots in one piece, apples in halves. Grater/Shredder available. Firmly fixed to the table top with suction cups.

Aksion

Average results for juicing carrots, but then again, carrots in April are no longer as juicy! 1 speed, the grater is too coarse.

assembling the device

First Impression – Reliability. The juicer just “reeked” of the defense industry and the old-school design bureau, which we all rejoiced at, knowing the frailty of many inexpensive Chinese-made devices.

It’s simple: a centrifuge with a stainless steel blade is placed on the base with a motor and the whole structure is fixed with a screw with a plastic cap for easy screwing.

For slicing, a plastic tray is placed instead of the centrifuge, instead of the juicer knife, a “grater/shredder” disk with a fine grater or wide slicer knife on top. The transparent lid is put on top and the assembled appliance is secured with two flaps on each side.

The glasses for pulp and juice are exactly the same, they are installed under the lid in the back and front for grating and shredding – only in the back .

Where’s the wire?? At first we thought it was detachable, so we looked for it in the box. We found it: it turns out that it fits completely into the compartment in the case – convenient! That’s all, you can work.

Holes in the centrifuge for juice are not as shallow as in the devices of famous brands, which means that it will not get clogged with small bones of strawberries-egevik, citrus pulp, etc. p. On the other hand, the juice will obviously be with pulp, depending on your taste. Although such a detail as “ejector pulp” if you want to help significantly reduce the amount of pulp and foam in the finished juice.

Squeezing juice from apples

Apple juice

Process: load the apples one half at a time, one half at a time, and do not push the pusher too hard.

Result: I got 590 g of juice with pulp and foam from 1 kg of apples. The second control test was the “press ejector”, a little lever that I press directly during the spinning process to get the pulp to go in the press container instead of under the lid.

The juice became lighter, more transparent, there was almost no foam, and from 1 kg of apples came out 550 grams of juice without foam.

Juicing carrots

Apple juice

The process: carrots can be easily loaded in one piece, and the size of the neck allows placing them in two pieces.

But in this case the device is a bit “slow”, so we continued one by one.

Result: we got 410 g of pure juice from 1 kg of carrots.

We estimate the efficiency of device according to GOST

According to current GOST “Juicers household” efficiency of the device is measured by the formula E = m2/m1 * 100, where m2 – mass of squeezed juice, m1 – mass of the original product. Efficiency is measured in percent.

GOST standard is considered a result of 45% for measurements we use strained clear juice without foam, the formula applies to all kinds of juice, i.e. it is averaged . The result for apple juice without foam – 55%, which is 10% !!! more than GOST.

For carrots – 41%, which is 4% less than the GOST requirement. Result: the average efficiency of the device in terms of “juicing of two types of fruits” was 48%, which is 3% higher than the GOST requirements.

Grating and shredding

A nice bonus to the juicer is a double-sided disc for shredding and chopping. Salads, side dishes, fried potatoes, pie filling, soup – whatever you need it for! In moments the juice was pressed longer! We grated and shredded carrots.

The size of grated pieces is slightly larger than on a regular coarse hand grinder, and there was no raw waste at all, which is rare in this business, such as in food processors. The only drawback is that when shredding/slicing, chopped food goes into the cake bowl, but a decent amount stays on the inside of the lid. No problem to get them out, but still..

Same with chopping: carrot slices come out thin, their size depends on the position of the root in the hopper: stood at an angle – elongated ovals, straight – circles.

There is almost no waste, too, but there is a wish to the manufacturer: not enough limiter in the pusher – a device that would help elongated fruits like carrots, cucumbers, daikon and zucchini get under the knife at right angles, so that the slices were the same size.
