ASSESS DESIGN

OVERALL SIZE

Scarlett

Very presentable look. The iron is slim and neat, with a sharp, long spout. Well-designed color combination: silver soleplate and iron base go great with the gray handle. All the “water” parts are highlighted in a subtle blue shade and the white color ties everything together in a harmonious design.

Irons

The iron stands firmly on a wide “heel” 12×11 cm , which is very important for safe operation.

The handle on top is rubber coated to prevent the iron from slipping out, even when you have wet hands.

Power cord is long, it gives a certain freedom of movement when ironing. Braided fabric. At the point of attachment to the iron is a flexible joint that allows the cord to move up and down, this prevents the cord from twisting. Additional plastic sheathing – another level of safety in use, extending the life of the product.

This is the lightest iron in the test. And it’s a little smaller than its counterparts, which can be important for compact storage.

SOLEPLATE

Home Appliance

The model has a “proprietary” KeramoPro soleplate, which is a ceramic-metal coating with increased durability, slip resistance and one hundred percent resistance to sticking. Specialists designed the soleplate.

There are 19 holes for steam around the edges. Featuring 4 grooves on the soleplate for better sliding and non-stick properties on fabrics.

Another distinctive detail is the long, narrow spout that can penetrate all the narrow elements on the garment. It’s the “longest” in the test, and can iron all the tight places.

Length of soleplate: 22 cm, width at widest point: 12 cm, length of spout: 4 cm.

Although the iron itself is slightly smaller than others, the size of the soleplate is not much different, which allows you to iron a large piece of fabric at once.

TEMPERATURE SETTINGS

The manual claims 4 temperature settings. We arm ourselves with a thermal imaging camera, measure after the heater operation indicator light goes out *:

1 – nylon – 91,8 – 101,9 ° C

2 – silk – 137,2 – 153 ° C

3 – cotton -198 – 205.2 °C

Max. – 205 – 214 °C.

*

Temperature is not constant, it varies and fluctuates every second which is normal and natural

.

The temperature range is wide and allows high-quality ironing a variety of fabrics: both synthetics, which require gentle handling, and thick linen.

Conclusions:

The soleplate heats unevenly, especially the difference can be seen between the nose and the base of the soleplate. The results are average, in this respect the model is no better and no worse than the others tested.

POWER

Power consumption when turning on the heater is 2212 – 2238 W.

STEAM

Home Appliances

Manufacturers do not specify parameters for steam consumption. Several steam modes are available, and it is possible to iron without steam.

At maximum temperature and maximum steam without steam hammer the water in the tank was used up in 20 minutes of ironing. Combined with the high soleplate heating it allows sufficiently high-quality ironing even over-dried clothes. Water lasts a long time, especially if you don’t use steam shock.

Hardware for home

Conclusions:

Ironing is largely due to the high temperature of the soleplate, the steam is not the main participant in the process, but an assistant, to soften the laundry and facilitate its ironing.

CONTROL

Irons

Everything is rather traditional. There is a turntable on the base, indicating minimum, maximum, five dedicated modes, the area where you can work with steam. Handle boasts 4-step steam power switch and steam or water on/off button. These keys are rubberized, located very conveniently – under the thumb, so you can easily use the steam blow while ironing without distraction. On the handle there is a power light, which lights up when the heating element is on, and turns off when the element turns off.

Home Appliances

Conclusions:

Easy to hold and easy to control. It is the lightest of all tested.

WATER

The irons

Water cup included. Its capacity does not correspond to the capacity of the water tank.

Aperture for pouring water with a large diameter, while the spout of the cup fits perfectly in size to the diameter of the hole, so a drop of water does not spill by. Such elaboration of details says about serious work of the company’s designers.

No need to fill special water, you can use tap water, but preferably filtered water.

The reservoir has a self-cleaning function which is activated by pressing a special button.

ANTICAPLE

The instructions stated that the iron should be emptied when the work was done. It’s clear why – if water remains, it simply flows out of the turned off iron.

And here’s how AntiCup works when ironing. I checked additionally: with the tank filled to the max at high temperatures, drips on the fabric are rare.

INSTRUCTIONS

Detailed, clear, clear, but there are some inaccuracies description of the mode, which this model does not have, and indicated the automatic shutdown .

Irons

Test results

Steam irons

The design of the iron is well thought out: the soleplate, which is only slightly smaller than in other models, retains its compact dimensions. Note the long spout, which is convenient for ironing “tight places”. Simple operation, ergonomic, bright design.

No automatic shutdown, no need to pour water out of the iron after ironing.

The compactness of the iron SC-SI30K15 refers to its small size, making it easy to store and handle. Despite its compact design, it doesn’t compromise on performance or functionality. The iron effectively delivers the necessary heat and steam to remove wrinkles from clothes efficiently.

Being compact, it may have a smaller water tank capacity compared to larger irons in its category. However, it still allows for sufficient ironing time before refilling. The power of this iron, in terms of wattage, is comparable to other irons in its category. It offers enough heat and steam production to effectively remove wrinkles from various fabrics. In conclusion, the compact size of the SC-SI30K15 iron does not adversely affect its performance or functionality, and it competes well in terms of power with other irons in its category.
