Jamo wEAR In20m headphones can be found on sale under the names Klipsch Image S2 and Klipsch Image X1. The fact is that Jamo, once and still is very famous in the audio equipment industry, has now been bought up by the American company Klipsc. And some of its products, in some markets, Klipsch distributes under the Jamo brand. It so happens that in the American market the headphones we are reviewing can be found under the brand Jamo, and under the brand Klipsch. There are two versions of Jamo wEAR In20m: “normal”, and equipped with a remote control and a microphone that is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and other smartphones and tablets.

Ergonomics

Jamo wEAR In20m are placed in the ears in the classic way wire down . Seating depth varies – if you want, you can push the headphone in deep enough that only the tip and the wire are visible on the outside, which provides excellent insulation from outside noise, but is probably not comfortable for all users.

In case of less deep seating, the isolation from the noise will not be so strong, but for sure the user will not feel discomfort while wearing the headphones in this mode.

Sound

Bass! – That’s what first of all attracts attention in the sound of the Jamo wEAR In20m . There are a lot of them! So much so, that even with seemingly quiet songs, not having an abundance of bass when listening to other headphones, with Jamo wEAR In20m you can literally feel the “avalanche-like” power of the bass.

At the same time, the bass in Jamo wEAR In20m is surprisingly fast. Most low-frequency instruments and electronic rhythm sections are played back with headphones in a solid, harsh manner – and only in the heaviest compositions, when playing fast passages of the bass drum, one can feel some “blurring”, indistinctness of the beats also, sometimes, in records with lots of “bass” one can feel some hum.

Many strong “bass” headphones have problems with reproduction of the midrange. But the Jamo wEAR In20m performs at its best here, too. Their “midrange” is not quite flat – as you might expect, its lower part dominates in quantity over the upper but the resolution of the headphones in the midrange is excellent comparable to that of the HiFiMAN Re0.

The voices and instruments of the Jamo wEAR In20m are “tinted” to make them just a little bit more subdued. But they also provide superior touch and nuance and enough midrange clarity for clean and clear reproduction of complex compositions.

The high frequencies in the sound of the Jamo wEAR In20m are not numerous – they are muted, and much stronger than the “top middle. Such suppression affects the sound of headphones in two ways: it deprives it a proper amount of sharpness, and does not allow you to fully enjoy the sounds of high-frequency instruments, but at the same time, eliminates all the “unnecessary” sharpness out of it, makes it comfortable and tireless.
