Controls and ergonomics
The Galaxy GL4509 has some interesting features, so you can’t use just one button to turn it on.
The main control panel is located on the side of the body and is painted silver. There are three small buttons: “on” to be pressed for a few seconds , “+” and “-” to adjust the temperature.
On the front panel there is a display with the temperature modes. When you turn the device on, the temperature display flashes at 120° C. “+” you can select a “hotter” mode. The corresponding indicator light starts blinking. The indicator light next to the button lights up constantly when the temperature reaches the set point.
On the other handle is the steam regulator. It is also highlighted in silver. There are three positions: no steam, medium steam, maximum steam.
The small water tank is on the plate above the display. It is made of red translucent plastic. On the inside there is a flexible white plate, under which there are two small holes through which the water pours into the reservoir. Above the reservoir is a silver lever that should be lifted to pull out or put back in place the water reservoir.
On the back of the second plate there is a silver regulator which allows the small teeth on the plate to “appear” and “grow”, which can be used to slightly comb the strands when straightening them.
At the base of the tongs silver round mechanical lock. It must be pressed on one side to open the tongs, on the other side to close.

If you have thick long hair, be prepared that you have to refill the water in the tank. And it is not very convenient to do it: the hole is very small, if you pour from the faucet, a lot of water pours past. The most interesting and easy way was suggested by one of the group members: she put the measuring cup of the iron nearby and filled the reservoir with water from it.
