Test-2 steam cleaners KITFORT KT-905 and KT-903: steam attack on tiles and acrylic in the bathroom

After an ingeniously quick steam cleaning of the oven and kitchen wall, I decided to give the steam cleaners a more difficult task: cleaning the acrylic tub of old dirt. The fact that we have very hard water in the house, and traces of it stay on the walls of the bathroom very quickly. Costs just a couple of days without washing it with chemicals, as ugly stains here and there. And in some places it is simply impossible to wipe them off. We decided to make things even worse: specifically, for a week, only rinsed the bathroom, but nothing rubbed or washed. So how good is steam at cleaning acrylic??

We used a round nylon brush, which is available in the range of the two machines on the show… And to clean the edge of the bathtub and the wall, we used a jet nozzle.

We cleaned one by one with KITFORT KT-905 and one with KITFORT KT-903.In terms of cleaning results, both units are functionally similar: they produce a lot of steam, and they have the same nozzles. Steam pressure is high and steam cleaners work just “5”, but … miracles do not happen. Fresh stains and stains disappeared, but old stains and glue stains – did not succumb to the steam even after the “soaking” in a solution of vinegar.

But the bathtub was much cleaner, but we had to work on it with a steam cleaner and a brush for a long time. That was a real pleasure to clean the joints between the bathtub and the wall. Dirt is notoriously quick to accumulate there and is very hard to get rid of with a sponge. Besides, that’s where mold is so fond of appearing. The jet nozzle gives out a powerful steam, which literally “beats out” the dirt, and it flows with the resulting water on the walls of the bathtub. To dirty water did not pour on the floor, you can “block her path” by placing a couple of dry rags on the edges of the bath .

Steam is not only an excellent cleaner, it also disinfects, and this is especially important when cleaning bathrooms. Anyway, the dark rim around the tub quickly regained its pristine whiteness, all that’s left to do is wipe everything down with a dry rag.

My kitchen floor is tiled. The main part is covered with smooth tile, but the piece in front of the stove is porous. Oh, do not advise anyone to repeat their mistake and choose a tile for the floor. This is just agony: the dirt is firmly embedded into all the “folds” and to get it out of there is possible only with a sponge and caustic chemicals.

Trying the large steam nozzle with the included rag. The result is perfect: I had no idea that I could accumulate so much dirt in a week in this area. It literally “rolls off” the tile, then I just vacuumed it up.

The jet nozzle came in handy in this case, too: it’s great for scrubbing dirt from floor and wall joints. The “dark” strip disappears and everything sparkles with cleanliness.

Steam cleaning of smooth tiles is a real pleasure! It’s true. There’s something mesmerizingly beautiful about these moves. This is not just my observation. In companies engaged in professional cleaning I have more than once with a smile told me how often hostesses of apartments and houses, where there are guest cleaners, asked to work themselves steam cleaner and literally meditate with a working steam cleaner in their hands. In general, cleaning the floor with a steam cleaner is not only easy, but also very enjoyable!

Here is the first comment, but not about the steam cleaners, but about the quality of the cloth. It is clear that it will not last the whole time you use the steam cleaner, but it will not last long, about a month of work. Then you have to replace: either buy a new one, or cut out the same shape using, for example, an old towel.

So, the results of this test:

1. The steam cleaner copes very well with “greasy” dirt, it is harder to clean lime scale, but fresh “deposits” can be cleaned quickly enough.

2. Steam disinfects surfaces, not only destroys dirt, but also germs, and prevents growth of mold on the walls.

3. The more special.The more items in the steam cleaner’s arsenal, the more places can be cleaned. It is the availability of brushes for different purposes allows you to clean the oven and various inaccessible corners.

Again, both models are identical in their functionality: Steam power, nozzles are the same.

What’s different about these devices?? I have already written about the design features of each model, but now I want to draw your attention to the features of each steam cleaner control.

Control is done this way: you slide forward the steam switch, and then press the finger on the steam button. You put your finger down, the steam stops.

Your second hand is free.

The steam button is a little tight, you have to press it all the time.

KITFORT KT-905

The control works like this: you have to move the steam switch on the tube to the right and then press the wide button located on the underside of the tube.

The button is wide and comfortable, your hand does not get tired while working.

Periodically you should maintain the steam switch, it “pops off”. Two hands full at the same time.

As you can see, each model has its own strengths and weaknesses in operation, so it’s hard to say which steam cleaner is more comfortable from this point of view. We can give both devices a solid 4 for operation, as it is quite easy to work with them. What’s really missing is an automatic mode so that you can use steam all the time without having to push any buttons or keys. But apparently, the concern for operational safety makes the manufacturers do so that the supply of hot steam would stop instantly, literally, with one fingertip movement.
