But the principle of these steam cleaners is different. In KITFORT KT-905 all water is heated in a boiler-reservoir, and then steam is supplied through a hose to the nozzles. Principle of KITFORT KT-903 is similar to the ones used in clothes steamers. Water from the basin goes into the boiler in batches, it heats up and then steam flows through the hose to the nozzle.

At first glance it seems unimportant how water is converted to steam, the main thing is the result. But this different approach affects an important characteristic of steam cleaners: the time to get ready for use. Here is undoubted leader KT-903, as soon as in 2 minutes you can start cleaning, whereas with KITFORT KT-905 you have to wait 8-10 minutes.

Test 1. Special purpose cleaning

Since both models have a round brass brush among the accessories, I really wanted to try it out. The more so that the wall panel over the stove has acquired a dark brown tint, the oven door glass was also dirty, and the glass ceramic panel, I deliberately have not cleaned for a few days.

I must admit right away I was not confident that the steam cleaners would be up to the task – normally I would have to use very aggressive chemicals and wield the cloth very vigorously. The wall panel and the glass were washed slowly, and the work was hard and dirty.

I even thought about dabbing the panel with a chemical cleaner, but for the sake of purity of the experiment I didn’t.

The process looked like this: I waited until the indicator light on the steam cleaner’s control panel changed from red to green, sat down on a chair next to the stove to work, so with maximum convenience , picked up the tube with the brush, pressed the steam button and began to drive the brush over the wall over the stove. I cleaned one half of the wall with one device, the other half with another.

I was blown away by the result: In 7 minutes the wall was back to its original color! I’ve spent about this amount of time, or maybe a little more, to clean it before, but that was intensive work, and here, I just sat on a chair and ran a brush over the wall! All the dirt fell on the stove with the steam, and I used a kitchen rag to clean it from there.

After a successful first experience, I was more optimistic about the idea of cleaning the oven door glass – and I was not mistaken! Here too, without much effort on my part, the glass was cleaned of most of the dirt. Of course it is possible to reach the ideal result, but I am not a maximalist in this case, and I decided that it is enough for me.

The brass brush won me over! I decided to let her do the vitrified clay as well. Let me remind you that the manufacturers insist on unplugging the panels for cleaning. In the case of cleaning with a steam cleaner, the advice is doubly relevant: a lot of water comes out of the steam on the surface. I found that the brush helps to clean the panel from coarse dirt: dark stripes from pans on the edges of burners, burnt food. t.e. the steam cleaner is the first step in cleaning. Then you have to dry the panel with a rag, apply a special product with silicone and give it a good rubbing.
