High pile carpets have an unpleasant feature: with time the nap crumples and becomes more rigid. And the dust and dirt are harder to get from such carpet, only a turbo brush can cope with it. Can a steam cleaner help? We check.
CARPET CLEANING
Carpet cleaning in this case consists of two steps:
- Vacuum the carpet thoroughly, using the turbo brush to remove debris more thoroughly.
- We take the steam cleaner, install the floor nozzle and move the brush across the carpet by pushing the steam button.
- Important: After cleaning, it is not recommended to walk on the carpet until it dries, otherwise there will be no result.
RESULT
Even after a thorough vacuum cleaner, the steam cleaner manages to get all the dust and dirt âhiddenâ in the carpet. The carpet is noticeably fresher and a bit softer. With a regular steam treatment, it looks cleaner than a regular vacuum cleaner. In addition, we should not forget that the steam disinfects, and thus frees the carpet not only from the visible dust, but also from invisible to the eye germs, bacteria and notorious dust mites.
WASH WINDOWS
Honestly, with great skepticism to this idea. But curiosity got the better of me and I wanted to try the power tool for cleaning windows. Since itâs a little too cold to wash windows, I decided to wash the door that leads from the kitchen to the glassed-in balcony.
I put a glass scraper on the small brush, and started the cleaning process. The steam condensed into water and it flowed down under the squeegee.
So, the actual process was like this: first, I worked with the squeegee by pushing the steam button and wiped the glass clean. All of this took literally a couple of minutes.
Then I unplugged the steam cleaner, took off the squeegee and handle and ran it over the glass to catch the water. Itâs another couple of minutes.
And finally, I rubbed the places on the glass where I left traces of the squeegee with a dry rag. A couple more minutes.
I was pleased with the result: it took only 6 to 7 minutes to wash this glass.
I didnât have to use any chemicals, the steam got rid of all the stains.
Looking forward to the warming weather to try out the appliance on cleaning dirt off the large exterior windows.
NOOKS, CORNERS AND CRANNIES
Every apartment has some hard-to-clean places, like the nooks and crannies between drawers, where even a normal vacuum cleaner would not fit. So I have these hard-to-reach places in my kitchen, and one of them is the gap between the dishwasher and the wooden dresser. The vacuum cleaner nozzle failed and couldnât get the dust out. I decided to try cleaning this area with the jet nozzle, which produces a powerful jet of steam.

Cheers! The steam cleaner did the job and was able to clean another corner of the kitchen.
A DIRTY BUSINESS
Around the catâs litter box for some reason the tiles get dirty faster. I canât tell you the exact reason for this, but the fact remains. Weâre getting the steam cleaner involved in the cleaning. I used the little round mop pad with the included rag and the squirt nozzle to clean nooks and crannies.
Once again, I was convinced that steam is excellent for dealing with organic dirt: the tiles are clean. True, it did not do without extra work at all: I had to take a rag and use it to collect all the dirt that the steam âflew awayâ from the tile.
As a result, the tiles around the catâs litter box are cleaner than on other walls. So, I cleaned all the walls even though I was only going to do one. The whole job took about fifteen minutes.

AND SOME MORE DIRT
I went to the bathroom, squatted down, and saw that the pipe under the sink and the screen under the tub, to put it mildly, do not shine clean. Well, letâs get on with cleaning with the steam cleaner. Small nozzle allowed to collect dirt quickly enough on both the plastic screen and the ceramic tube. And for the final cleaning of the dirt it was necessary to use a rag.

CONCLUSIONS
These steam cleaners wonât keep you out of the house and out of your hair, but they make your home cleaner and safer. Many jobs will take less time and effort. Youâll also be able to use fewer chemicals when cleaning. Itâs not only good for your health, itâs good for your wallet too, and thatâs not a waste these days.
WHAT TO CHOOSE
So, we tested two steam cleaners from the same manufacturer. Which one do you prefer??
Letâs answer right away, both are good and functionally identical. But of course, each model has its own individual features that set it apart from the rest.
Kitfort KT-903
Space saving storage, easy to refill, easy to open water tank lid, one button control.
Not particularly maneuverable when cleaning, all nozzles in an assortment of one.
Kitfort KT-905
Many nozzles, easy to drive, small size.
Two-handed operation, you have to âreleaseâ the pressure to refill the water, you canât see the water level, itâs not always easy to unscrew/screw the lid.
General remarks
- It is clear that many nozzles and rags are consumables, but I would like the rags to be more dense, and brushes do not lose their attractive appearance immediately after the first cleaning.
- The first cleaning gives off a peculiar smell: I think it smells of the oil used to clean the parts. Over time, it will fade away.
Overall advantages
- Itâs powerful steam.
- Getting up and running in no time.
- A large number of nozzles that allows you to use steam cleaners for cleaning different surfaces in the house.
- Reasonable price of models.
These steam cleaners seem promising, but Iâm curious about their effectiveness on different surfaces. Can anyone share their experience using the Kitfort KT-905 and KT-903 for cleaning carpets, corners, and mirrors? How well do they handle these specific areas?
Are the Test 3 steam cleaners Kitfort KT-905 and KT-903 effective in removing dirt and stains from carpets, corners, and mirrors?
