Tamron, a leading manufacturer of optical products for various applications, announces the release of the new SP 15-30 mm F/2 ultra-wide-angle zoom lens.8 Di VC USD G2 Model A041 for full-frame DSLR cameras. A next-generation lens with premium optics and a wide range of features to satisfy every need, bring your photography to life and take your photography to new heights. This model is the third in a series of second-generation Tamron high-speed zoom lenses with a maximum aperture of F/2.8 and the VC image stabilization system, which are available with the abbreviation G2 generation 2 .
KEY FEATURES OF THE LENS
1.Super high-speed, ultra-wide-angle zoom lens
The A041 is an ultra wide-angle F/2 lens.8 cameras with a focal length of 15 mm or more, with high resolution even in the peripheral area of the image. With an XGM eXpanded Glass Molded Aspherical glass element and multiple LD Low Dispersion lenses to reduce distortion and lateral chromatic aberration, a high degree of resolution and detail over the entire focal range is achieved, equal to that of fixed focal length lenses.
2.The newly developed AX anti-reflective coating
AX Anti-reflection eXpand anti-reflective coating has been developed to control backlighting that affects image quality, and is particularly effective for wide-angle lenses, which tend to let in damaging rays from the periphery of the frame. Tamron has created an innovative patented inner lens coating with special application technology.
The new coating keeps the reflection coefficient for the peripheral areas of the frame at the same high level as the central area, giving equally successful results on both standard curvature lenses and convex surfaces of large-curvature lenses, where it has always been difficult to achieve a homogeneous coating.
Thus, the A041 uses three different types of coatings together with eBand Extended Bandwidth & Angular-Dependency and BBAR Broad-Band Anti-Reflection anti-reflective coatings that deliver unparalleled ghost and flare reduction and therefore exceptionally sharp and contrasty images even at the very edges of the frame.
3.High-speed and high-precision AF
Superb speed and precision AF has been achieved by incorporating a Dual MPU Micro-Processing Unit and an advanced AF control algorithm to boost AF performance. The AF Drive uses Tamron’s patented USD Ultrasonic Quiet Drive technology for high torque, fast response and quiet motor operation. In addition, the lens is equipped with Full-time Manual Focus, so that MF manual focus adjustments can be made on the fly.
4.VC image stabilization system ensures sharp pictures in all shooting conditions
Tamron launched the world’s first high-speed ultra-wide-angle F/2 zoom lens.8 model A012 equipped with VC VibrationCompensation image stabilization system. In the new A041, the stabilization system is enhanced and outperforms previous versions, achieving 4.5 additional exposure steps in accordance with CIPA standards. It enables sharp images in a broad range of photographic genres, whether shooting indoors or outdoors, as well as handheld and low light, with an aperture setting for landscape photography.
5.Filter holder on the rear of the lens
The A041, for use with Canon cameras EF mount , has a new standard feature: a filter holder that enables gelatin and other sheet filters to be inserted in front of the rear lens. Using filters like this makes wide-angle photography much more interesting and easier, because it solves the problem of the large curvature of the front lens element, which made taking pictures with filters very difficult in the past.
6.Significant improvement in the high-strength fluoride coating of the front lens
The new A041 has significantly improved its durability and abrasion resistance. The front lens surface is coated with an advanced fluoride coating based on a newly developed fluorine compound with high water and oil repellency. The lens surface is now even easier to wipe clean and less vulnerable to the damaging effects of dirt, dust, moisture and fingerprints. This coating serves as permanent and long-lasting protection for the most important lens in the lens.
7.New design ensures excellent operability and design consistency
With the new design characteristic of the professional SP series, the A041 stands out with the same style, build quality and high performance as the other two models in this series, the SP 24-70mm F/2.8 Di VC USD G2 model A032 and SP 70-200mm F/2.8 Di VC USD G2 model A025 . 9.Weather resistant design
Rubber seals are placed in the lens mount and other critical areas to prevent the penetration of moisture or rain drops, providing high resistance to moisture and an extra level of protection when shooting outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
