Sony unveils α68 SLR with 4D FOCUS autofocus

The new α68 ILCA-68 from Sony lets photography enthusiasts explore even more creative possibilities with their favourite collection of A lenses. Inheriting many of the professional features from the famous α77 II, the α68 features Sony’s unique 4D FOCUS system, which provides extremely high AF performance in all shooting conditions – even in lighting as low as EV-2, when other cameras start having AF problems.

Sony ILCA-68 Body SLR

Phase AF system uses 79 points, including 15 cross sensors, as well as a dedicated autofocus sensor at F2.8 aperture for low-light shooting. All combine to deliver a wide, fast AF area with predictive tracking that locks in on fast-moving subjects clearly. And thanks to Sony’s unique Translucent Mirror technology, the α68 offers continuous tracking autofocus at up to 8fps during continuous shootingii.

Whether you’re shooting stills or movies, the APS-C Exmor 24-megapixel CMOS sensor with a wide ISO sensitivity range of 100-25600iv ensures the highest image quality. It works in conjunction with Sony’s fast BIONZ X image processor, which uses detail reproduction and scatter reduction technologies, as well as local noise reduction, to make every shot clear and detailed.
