Yes, Sony’s α6500 does have exceptional autofocus capabilities thanks to its 425-point phase detection system that covers a wide area of the frame. This allows for quick and accurate subject tracking, even in challenging lighting conditions. In comparison to other high-end camera models, the α6500’s autofocus performance is on par with leading competitors such as Canon and Nikon. However, some users may find that the touchscreen focus technology on models like the Canon EOS 80D or the Nikon D500 offers a more user-friendly experience. Overall, the α6500 is a top contender in terms of autofocus performance among high-end camera models.
