The fast readout speed of the 50.1-megapixel sensor and the large amount of buffer memory allow for 30 frames per second. Up to 155 full-frame RAW images or 165 JPEG images with the electronic shutter. Full subject and exposure tracking is maintained.

With the incredible computing power of up to 120 AF/AE tracking speeds per second, the Alpha 1 can accurately “track” even the fastest-moving subject. Auto Exposure works perfectly even during fast light changes, with a response time of just 0.033 seconds.

Enhanced electronic viewfinder with a record refresh rate of 240 frames per second.

The Alpha 1 can take photos at an incredible speed, and the viewfinder doesn’t lag behind, with a record refresh rate of 240fps. It delivers unbelievably smooth images. The viewfinder doesn’t go dark when the exposure happens, so the photographer pressing the shutter button can stay focused on framing or tracking the subject – even in continuous mode. Resolution of 9.44 million. the fastest-moving subjects in the world, and the fastest-moving subjects in the world approx.0.64 inches, Quad-XGA OLED technology and state-of-the-art optics deliver the sharpest viewfinder clarity in its class. The Alpha 1 viewfinder also has 0.90x magnification, 41° diagonal field of view and a 25mm eye relief point which delivers a distortion-free view throughout the entire field of view.

Enhanced autofocus

Sony pushes the limits of AF technology even further with the Alpha 1, which tracks even complex and fast-moving subjects with ease and precision. Sensor array features 759 phase-exposure autofocus sensors, covering approximately 92 percent of the sensor’s area. This enables consistent, accurate focusing even in situations where other autofocus systems would fail.

Thanks to the new BIONZ XR image processor, the intelligent real-time eye autofocus function performs 30% better than the previous iteration. It enables reliable eye-tracking even when your eyes aren’t pointed at the camera. In addition to real-time eye tracking of people and animals, the Alpha 1 – a first for the Alpha family – also lets you do this when photographing birds. New algorithms don’t miss the subject, even if a sitting bird suddenly takes off, or when you make a sudden change in the frame.

Alpha 1 also features reliable real-time object tracking using artificial intelligence. Recognition algorithm uses color, brightness and distance to locate your subject quickly.

Silent and vibration-free electronic shutter

The rolling shutter effect was reduced by a factor of 1.5 compared to the Alpha 9 II due to the high speed at which the new sensor was read. Also world’s first flicker-free continuous shooting using electronic shutter. This shutter, unlike the mechanical one, works quietly and doesn’t make the body vibrate. Now it’s also possible to shoot burst mode in difficult lighting conditions, such as under fluorescent lights or other artificial light sources that make you prone to flicker. For the first time in the Alpha family, it can also synchronize the electronic shutter with the flash. The flash can be used in so many different situations, all of which can now take advantage of the electronic shutter.

Synchronizes with the flash at a shutter speed of 1/400 sec thanks to a dual-drive shutter

The Alpha 1 offers the world’s fastest mechanical shutter to flash sync, at just 1/400 of a second, making it easier to work with highly dynamic scenes. The shutter is made of carbon fiber and the shutter is released with a dual motor spring-operated and electromagnetic , giving the system just the right amount of strength and lightness.

Innovations for high-definition photography

Despite its extremely high resolution, the Alpha 1’s sensor offers high sensitivity and low noise, as well as 15+ stops of dynamic range for movies and 15 for stills. The latest image processing system produces smooth, natural transitions between light and dark areas of the frame at any ISO 100 to 32,000 in photo mode, the range can be extended from ISO 50 to 102,400 .

The camera also introduces an updated pixel shift shooting mode, allowing up to 16 full-frame images to be stitched together. The Alpha 1 moves the sensor with superb precision in half-pixel or pixel increments to produce 16 separate images with a combined resolution of 796.2 megapixel. These can then be stitched together to create a single 17-bit resolution image using the Sony Imaging Edge™ PC software.280 x 11.520 pixels. Flash sync speeds of up to 1/200 of a second are possible. Ideal for architecture, artwork and any other static subject, the resulting images are stunning in every detail and color fidelity.
