Fujifilm has announced the launch of the Instax Link WIDE smartphone printer. This is the latest version in the Instax line of instant printable devices. The Link WIDE, which follows in the footsteps of the acclaimed Instax mini Link photo printer that was introduced in 2019, allows you to print images in large format on Instax WIDE film – a first in the smartphone printer category.
According to Toshi Ida, president of FUJIFILM Europe, this product was in part due to the overwhelmingly positive feedback from photographers and Instax users. “Inspired by the capabilities of the Instax Mini Link printer, many consumers have asked us to add the option of printing images from a digital camera or smartphone in a larger format to the new device. We are confident that Link WIDE fully meets this need with its advanced features and the ease of use of the printer will delight our customers.
Link WIDE produces high quality large format prints with the free Instax Link WIDE App[1], which transfers images from the camera to a mobile printer via Bluetooth . The Link WIDE App opens up endless creative and entertainment options for the user, while Bluetooth easily and quickly transmits the finished frames to print. In addition, Link WIDE is compatible with the FUJIFILM X-S10 mirrorless digital camera, so the photographer can send images from the camera directly to the Link WIDE printer.
Outperforming other smartphone printers in its category in terms of functionality, the lightweight, hand-held Link WIDE printer transmits and prints an image in about 12 seconds, supporting continuous printing. When fully charged, the printer is capable of printing up to 100 pictures in a row. Link WIDE offers two print modes: Instax Rich, which emphasizes deep, warm colors, and Instax Natural, which emphasizes natural skin tones.
For easy and convenient use of the device, the Link WIDE App was created, packed with many useful printing options. It includes about 30 filters, editing tools including cropping , the ability to create collages and add text, and includes built-in stickers and frame templates.
